Celebrating the 129th anniversary of the Adwa Victory at Pharo School Homosha. The day Ethiopia triumphed at Adwa is more than just a historical date —it's a powerful symbol of freedom for Ethiopians and a source of pride for all of Africa. 129 years ago, Ethiopian forces, under the leadership of Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu Betul, defeated the invading Italian army at the Battle of Adwa. This historic victory thwarted Italy's attempt to colonise Ethiopia, making Ethiopia the only African nation to successfully resist European colonisation during the Scramble for Africa. To mark this remarkable day, our talented girls and dedicated staff at Pharo School Homosha put on vibrant performances, including captivating dramas, songs, and poetry. Their celebrations honour our commitment to providing a global education that is locally rooted.
