Teaching School Hub in Essex supporting teachers at all stages of their careers.
About us
Saffron Teaching School Hub is a partnership of former Essex Teaching School Alliances, strategic school and Trust partners, Essex County Council and Curriculum Hubs who are all dedicated to supporting the profession. Saffron TS Hub is one of 87 Teaching School Hubs across England. The TS Hubs have replaced the previous network of around 750 teaching schools, which ended in August 2021. The Saffron TS Hub area (EE1) covers the Essex local authority districts of Braintree, Chelmsford, Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford, with 256 primary, secondary and special schools. The work of the Saffron TS Hub is about ensuring that the capacity and expertise we have across all our primary and secondary schools are used effectively to ensure that all pupils thrive and schools prosper. We believe that ambition, collaboration, accountability and trust between partners are the foundations to deliver success for pupils and the teaching profession. The Hub draws together the expertise, skills and passions of our partners to deliver long term positive outcomes for pupils; this is best achieved when primary and secondary schools work closely together.

Saffron Teaching School Hub, Chafford Hundred South Essex Teaching School Hub, Unity Teaching School Hub and Essex County Council hosted a ‘Train to Teach in Essex’ event in Chelmsford on 2 December, along with representatives from the DfE. A powerful partnership for teacher recruitment! It was great to have so many local ITT providers there to support our future teachers. We're grateful to Beaulieu Park School for hosting. We love hearing from our facilitators about the wider impact of their role. Recently, we caught up with Rachel Ayres to find out more about her engagement in the NPQ Leading Literacy programme. Rachel - an English Teacher, School Leader, Education Consultant and passionate advocate of high-quality professional development – highlighted a number of strengths of the NPQ programme: • The value of developing a network of like-minded individuals to support both current role and future progression • The flexibility and accessibility of the online training materials • The importance of the implementation process which underpins the NPQ programme – and how this delivers lasting change in schools To find out more about Rachel’s reflections on NPQ facilitation, check out her Case Study: https://bit.ly/4g9CESW If you would like to join our facilitation team, complete our application form: https://bit.ly/4140xqZ Take your next step with Saffron!
