The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA), revealed systemic failures in safeguarding children. Institutions have prioritised reputation over safety, leaving children vulnerable to horrific abuse. The final report, based on over 7,000 survivor testimonies and 2.5 million pages of evidence, made 20 key recommendations for reform. Yet, two years on, not one of these recommendations have yet been implemented. The Act On IICSA campaign is championing the 2nd recommendation, which was an establishment of a Child Protection Authority (CPA), a single, independent body dedicated to supporting and monitoring child protection. A CPA would ensure child safeguarding is a priority and work to execute the other 19 critical recommendations. You can learn more about this by watching our webinar which took place on the 6th November 2024, here: https://lnkd.in/eGN5t-9W #ActOnIICSA #16DaysOfActivism #NoExcuse

On Day 5 of #16daysofactivism we urge everyone to support our #ActOnIICSA campaign by writing to their MP to ask them to support the establishment of a Child Protection Authority. Thanks to everyone who has watched our webinar and got in touch to ask how they can help. If we all focus on this one action in the run up to Christmas we can really get the message across.
