When Harry and Stephen started Clerksroom in 2001, it was with a singular goal: to modernise the traditional chambers model, whilst still honoring the historic esteem of the Bar. The notion was simple: by developing software to connect barristers with clients, Clerksroom would reduce case management costs, bypass the need for physical rooms, and in turn, allow barristers to determine their own working patterns and fees. Today, The Barrister Group — Clerksroom's evolution — hosts over 250 barristers, 8 silks, and 40 in-house staff. With specialists in seven areas of law as well as a separate, direct-to-public subsidiary service, it's safe to say the group has come along way since its early days — with still more growth to come!

"David Isbister’s assistance in our mediation was integral to getting the settlement we did and he proved to be proactive and professional throughout. His conversations with the client were extremely clear and detailed, leaving her in no doubt as to his role and purpose; and assisted with managing her expectations. Despite the time constraints and the difficulties with a ‘quirky’ office layout, David played a crucial role in getting a settlement that my client could live with." David Isbister is one of The Barrister Group's expert mediators, and regularly appears contentious probate and trust, claims against estates, and TOLATA disputes.
