Core Highways Introduces the Revolutionary BAAVA Barrier to the UK We’re thrilled to announce the first deployments of our brand-new BAAVA anti-incursion barrier on the UK network! Our inaugural deployment took place in London for Transport for London, as part of Costain Group PLC’s refurbishment of the A40 elevated section. Acting as the Traffic Management contractor, we ensured safe working zones during full road closures over key weekends. We also proudly supported the Rutland Remembrance Parade, providing anti-incursion protection that kept the procession safe while honouring this significant occasion. So, what makes the BAAVA barrier so innovative? Crash-Test Certified: Stops a 3.5-tonne vehicle traveling at 48 kph in just 5.5 meters. Modular Design: Adaptable for different road widths and real-time adjustments on-site. Secure & Accessible: Immovable by the public but easily converted into an access gate with a unique handle mechanism. This barrier is perfect for urban projects, road closures, and event safety, offering unmatched versatility and safety. FCIHT commented “After seeing the BAAVA barrier system at Highways UK, I was keen to trial it for Rutland’s remembrance parade as I could see the potential for anti-terrorist prevention as well as crowd and road worker protection at public events/temporary road closures for maintenance works. He continued “The way the units can be built up on site to cover a variety of road widths and be quickly manoeuvred at road closure points to let authorised vehicles through made the whole experience very impressive.
