  • Our event yesterday, co-hosted with AllianceBernstein, explored the impact of our market environment, new political landscape, and the cost of living on future retirement lifestyles, asking ‘Can defined contribution members achieve a lifestyle that’s aligned with any Retirement Living Standards?’ Expert speakers Inigo Fraser Jenkins, David Hutchins and our DC Director, Philip Smith and Head of DC Distribution Adam Tudor, set the scene with sessions on: - today’s retirement market - the impact of the new economic regime on the pension system - decumulation, and the potential benefits of a seamless member journey Our guests, including employee benefit consultants, advisers and trustees, provided some great insights in the Q&A session facilitated by Marc Cox. If you’d like to discuss these topics with us, and hear how we’re innovating in this area with a lifetime income approach, please contact Adam Tudor.

  • An even wider range of investment strategies now available to pension schemes through DB Complete, DB Connect and TPT Investment Management's standalone fiduciary management service.

Our £720m Investment Grade Bond Fund has now successfully launched, providing pension schemes with easy access to an even wider range of investment strategies. The fund is the fifth of seven planned launches of collective investment vehicles, and is invested in predominantly public investment-grade bonds with a low probability of default over the long term. The fund has been seeded with capital from TPT Retirement Solutions' DB master trust so that pension schemes with assets being managed by TPTIM immediately achieve scale benefits across asset classes. • Congratulations to our latest cohort of graduate trainees, who have just completed their tenth week of intensive pensions administration training with Penny Slade and Kirsty Henfrey. As part of our award-winning training programme, they’ll now join our pensions administration teams to start working on live cases and learning from colleagues at all levels. For the next 16 months, they’ll receive on-the-job and classroom-based training to expand and develop their knowledge. They’ll also have the opportunity to study towards qualifications with the Pensions Management Institute (PMI), starting with its industry-recognised Retirement Provision Certificate. Our trainees have joined us from a range of backgrounds, having studied courses including Economics, Law, and Food Science and Nutrition, and worked in healthcare, recruitment and marketing.

  • The government’s plan to allow companies to access their defined benefit (DB) pension scheme surplus could make run-on a more attractive option, allowing them to invest back into their business and into the broader economy. TPT’s Head of DB Distribution, Jonathan Jackaman, explains the questions that sponsors should ask themselves when weighing up their end-game options, and how TPT’s DB Connect could help: Explore our DB services https://lnkd.in/euuV-qU2 Book a meeting to discuss your DB scheme https://lnkd.in/ekxn22Wk

  • It’s great to see the team helping to shape the future of stewardship, through its consultation response and attendance at the FRC’s roundtable discussion

We have now submitted our response to the Financial Reporting Council consultation on proposed updates to the UK Stewardship Code. In it, TPTIM’s Responsible Investment Manager, Inês Cunha Pereira, outlines our support for the revisions and key areas that could be refined to make the code more effective: “We welcome the streamlining of reporting requirements, which reduces the administrative burden for signatories while maintaining transparency. However, the omission of explicit references to broader societal benefits in the economy, environment, and society from the new definition narrows its scope, potentially reducing the Code’s relevance to systemic challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and societal inequality. These are issues that may directly impact long-term financial outcomes. “We believe the 2020 Code’s broader framing acknowledged the interconnected nature of financial, environmental, and social sustainability, encouraging a holistic approach. Many investors, including TPTIM, recognise that long-term financial value cannot be disentangled from systemic risks. As such, we would suggest retaining language that acknowledges the interconnected nature of financial and broader sustainability outcomes.” The updated Code is expected to be published later this year, with the first reporting cycle in 2026.

  • Thanks for having us, Hymans Robertson. Watch the webinar now https://lnkd.in/eiQzwfrg for a thought-provoking discussion and viewer opinions on four important questions: - Which key features of CDC are most attractive to you? - What would you need to make CDC work for you and your members? - If an established market existed today how long would it take for your internal decision-making and governance process to move to CDC? - What role do you think CDC schemes will play in the UK private sector pensions landscape in the next generation?
