Lots of exciting news coming out of #MSIgnite in the #Security and #Compliance space….. And of course, Copilot! My highlights so far include: Exposure Management is now in GA! We’ve been using EM for some time, and it constantly provides valuable insights into the attack surface, attack paths, blast radius, etc, whilst offering verbose remediation recommendations. As a follow on from the above, Microsoft have announced Purview Data Security Posture Management (DSPM). In the same way Exposure Management empowers you to visualise your infrastructure’s exposure to cyber threats, DSPM will provide visibility and contextual insights across your data using the Purview suite of products. This will enable Data Security teams to rapidly identify risks in their data protection that may have previously gone undetected, including AI-based risks. As AI continues to evolve it is critical to ensure that cyber security is considered continuously. So, it’s reassuring to see Microsoft’s investment in securing these AI workloads by expanding the protection capabilities of their security and compliance products….. Insider Risk Management (IRM) has new detection capabilities for insider risk across GenAI apps, including risky prompts, risky intent, or information generated from sensitive information. Microsoft have added new GenAI controls to stop oversharing of sensitive information in M365 Copilot. This security feature combined with the new Data Loss Prevention (DLP) for M365 Copilot will prevent M365 Copilot from processing files based on their sensitivity label. Entra Internet Access now includes Continuous Access Evaluation (CAE) to revoke access when conditions change and TLS inspection of encrypted traffic. Great to see these much-needed features in preview. Secure password deployment in Edge enables users to share an encrypted password allowing them to sign into websites without ever knowing the actual password. This effectively removes password sharing requirements over insecure channels. Lastly, I know it’s not new to Ignite but it’s great to see lots of talk and demos about Intune’s Endpoint Privilege Management. This security feature enforces the zero-trust principle of least privilege by enabling non-administrative users to perform common administrative tasks such as installing drivers or application updates.

The construction industry has much to gain by leveraging data in new ways to solve known and unknown challenges. Three key takeaways: 📊 Data as a force multiplier: Ensure your data is organized and reliable to avoid falling behind in the competitive landscape. 🌟 User journey mapping as a clear way to find incremental improvements: Mapping out the user journey helps identify areas for continuous improvement, even seemingly small changes can amplify in cost savings or safety increases. 📈 Start small and iterate: while developing and implementing your data strategy, it's possible to start small with specific projects of business value with partners, which is how Inspired Villages got going with the help of Transparity.
