An important update from #LCIF investee company ADAPTAVATE , which has won a £1 million grant from Innovate UK. As part of a two-year project, Adaptavate will collaborate with York’s Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC), creating a cost model and defining specifications for a production facility to optimise performance, manufacturability, and material suitability. The project will help drive global adoption of the company’s technology by making it more cost-competitive while enhancing its carbon removal potential. Developed by Adaptavate founder and CEO, Tom Robinson, Breathaboard is a low-carbon, bio-based, alternative to gypsum-based plasterboard. Gypsum board, commonly known as drywall, is a significant carbon emitter, accounting for material portion of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions. RheEnergise is bringing fresh innovation to the world’s dominant form of storage: pumped hydro storage.
