Reflecting on some of our 2024 highlights across #Afghanistan, #Myanmar, #SaudiArabia and the #Levant ✨    From unveiling the King’s Lodge at The Connaught, to working with artisans like #Palestinian glass blower Mohammad Twam or the weavers we work with in Myanmar, our exhibition at Ithra, In Praise of the Artisan, and our Weaving Poems exhibition at Design Doha, it’s been an exciting year for Turquoise Mountain!     Thank you to all our supporters, donors, and partners, who make this work possible.  

We are pleased to share the series, From The Artisan’s Workshop, showcasing the talents of the artisan communities we work with in #Palestine, #Afghanistan and #Myanmar. This series was developed in collaboration with our partners Alwaleed Philanthropies and the Alwaleed Cultural Network.     In Palestine, we explore the traditional art of glass blowing. Learn how master artisan Mohammad Twam is keeping this important craft alive using techniques passed down through the generations.   In Afghanistan, join us as we visit Turquoise Mountain Afghanistan and the Alwaleed Philanthropies School of Calligraphy and Miniature Painting in Murad Khani to meet with master calligraphers Aref and Ustad Rasuli.   In Myanmar, we take a walk through the workshops of fabric weavers, jewellery makers, calligraphers and glassblowers.
