Emphasizing Project Summary Released A project closing summary has been released for the EMPHASIZING Project (Enhancing Material Properties of recycled glass fibres through SIZING). TWI was one of seven partners in the project, which aimed to recycle composite wind energy structures that are normally incinerated or sent to landfill at the end of life. The recycled glass fibres could then be used to create parts for the automotive industry. Book Now: Adhesive Bonding Training with TWI The benefits offered by adhesives have seen their use becoming more widespread across industry, although it is important to understand the underlying science and technology behind adhesives, as well as appreciating that design rules have to be redefined to accommodate their use. Our four-day ‘Adhesive Bonding Technical Workshop' combines theory and practical elements to ensure you, or your workforce, have the required skills and knowledge to understand the process. The course will help you understand everything from adhesive selection, the different types of adhesive available, designing for bonded joints, dispensing adhesives, surface treatments, the properties of cured adhesives, mechanical testing for bonded joints, durability and ageing of adhesives, quality control, and health and safety. We have already scheduled four courses to take place at our Cambridge, UK facility in 2025, but space is limited with just ten places available on each course – and the first two courses are filling up fast.
