We boost UK prosperity, understand the Universe, and protect our planet and outer space. The UK Space Agency plays a major role in delivering the government’s National Space Strategy. We nurture a thriving space ecosystem – a network of investors, scientists, engineers, integrators, academia, and research labs – and a sector that generates an annual income of £17.5 billion and employs nearly 50,000 people across the country. Our staff include scientists, engineers, commercial experts, project managers and policy officials who: - catalyse investment to advance space-based technology and maximise UK space sector growth - deliver missions and capabilities that responsibly meet national needs and advance our understanding of the Universe - champion the power of space to inspire people, offer greener, smarter solutions and support a sustainable future To achieve the greatest impact in these three areas, we focus most of our resource behind eight delivery Priorities. Our new programme Rockets for All will introduce young people to careers in the UK's growing space industry. 🚀 Designed and run by Big Ideas, Rockets for All will launch on 20 January with a week of digital workshops, each with a special guest from the UK space industry. 🛰️ These workshops will explore careers in our growing space sector and the skills needed for different job roles - from solar physicists to mechanical engineers, space policy to space geology. 👨🔬👩🏾🔬 Classes will also be sent free water rocket kits to run Rockets for All competitions in their schools - two schools will win an exciting in-person experience with Imperial Space Lab. 🚀 Visit the Big Ideas website to find out more about the guest speakers and register your class for one or more of the free workshops. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehqJyTRU
