Recent conflicts have reinforced the importance of space for securing information advantage and enhancing military operations. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) satellites offer unparalleled Earth observation, operating over any part of the globe. Constellations of ISR satellites can use different sensors and cameras, allowing focus to move quickly from one area to another.

#USSPACECOM welcomed 🇬🇧 Royal Air Force (RAF) Group Captain vaughan arnall. As the Senior Liaison Officer from the United Kingdom he coordinates directly between UK Space Command and USSPACECOM. The UK is a key 🇺🇸 Ally in bolstering international cooperation in space. USSPACECOM works alongside the UK to secure the space domain through Operation Olympic Defender, the Combined Space Operations Initiative Principal's Board, and a Space Situational Awareness Information Sharing Agreement, to name a few.

Ten years, ten nations: One initiative. Over a decade, the Combined Space Operations Initiative has promoted the responsible use of space, while safeguarding our space interests from increasing threats. The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Space to provide next-generation modems for the Skynet satellite communications constellation. These new modems, part of the Future Protected Modem Type A project, will replace the current Paradigm Modem System and support both Skynet 5 and the upcoming Skynet 6 satellites. Designed, developed, and manufactured in the UK, these modems will enhance our military satellite communications capabilities. This partnership ensures that the Skynet System continues to deliver world-class communications to our Front Line Commands and deployed operational personnel worldwide
