As part of a campaign to integrate UK weapons onto F-35, the first flight of a Meteor captive missile took place from a US Marine Corps F-35B. The UK is leading integration of Meteor on F-35B, alongside Italy who are focused on the F-35A variant. Collaboration between the UK and US governments, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), MBDA, Lockheed Martin, and others have led to this milestone, which is crucial to Meteor’s potent air-to-air capability. In the future, F-35 customers across the globe will benefit from being able to equip Meteor on their own aircraft. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eubTAdGR

For the first time, the RAF has tested Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) in vehicles at RAF Wittering. The five-month trial, called Project Ester, reduced CO2 emissions and explored how HVO could power field catering systems. HVO is a low-carbon diesel that significantly reduces the harmful gases and CO2 that internal combustion engines emit. With support from Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) and industry partners, the results showed: ✅ Up to 90% lower CO2 emissions ✅ Works in existing diesel engines ✅ Another step towards Net Zero 🌍 Full story: https://lnkd.in/eJu9UwSs
