🔐 Open With Care – Surprises Can Hide in Cupboards! WOW - this is our twelfth and final safety message for 2024. Our December message reminds us that when opening or closing cupboards, shelving units, or storage spaces, always expect the unexpected. Items may have shifted, become loose, or even be heavier than they seem. Safety Tips: ✅ Open cupboards slowly to avoid items falling. ✅ Check shelves for stability before reaching in. ✅ Store heavy items on lower shelves to prevent accidents. Let’s stay vigilant and keep surprises for special occasions - not storage spaces! We are actively encouraging our team to raise a safety gain if they have a safety concern. Due to an engineering retiring within this area, I am now actively  seeking a compliance engineer based in the southeast! In this role, you will be responsible for delivering brake testing, equipment safety inspections and thorough checks on customers’ mobile equipment, to ensure that all equipment is left compliant to the customers specification. You will join a dedicated compliance team, equipped with a high-spec custom designed van, that is stocked with all the right parts, to ensure that customers’ machines are left compliant and safe to use. Compliance testing is an integral part of the quarry and waste industry, ensuring safety for those operating and working with HME. Our team of specialists’ relish working across our customer base, knowing the important role they play. To be considered for the role you must be a qualified mechanical engineer with strong industry experience and a can-do attitude. Here is Peter Haddock talking with Luke Thomas, workshop engineer here at United Plant. Luke is explaining in more detail his important role in repair and maintenance of customer assets. Over the past 12 months we have been expanding our workshop solutions, which range from minor repairs to full-scale rebuilds. We also provide welding and line-boring services. Our approach ensures the best outcomes for each asset, restoring optimal performance and efficiency. This means customers’ trust us to assess their equipment and deliver the necessary work to make it safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
