It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a beloved member of the Vispring family, Mr. Jim Gerety, who passed away after a brief illness on Saturday 9th November 2024, at the age of 66. Jim joined Vispring in 2011 as Sales Director, becoming Managing Director in 2016. Jim then retired at the end of 2022, but remained on the Vispring board until his passing. During this time he continued to support the Flex Bedding Group, working closely with CEO Rafael Gonzalez and COO Alain Rauh. Through his continued involvement and leadership, Jim helped Vispring grow into the successful luxury bed brand it is today. Beyond his career, Jim will be remembered for his kindness and genuine attentiveness to everyone around him. He had an extraordinary ability to remember the little details about each of us—whether it was about family, personal goals, or small anecdotes—which made everyone feel valued and respected. His thoughtfulness and personal touch left a lasting impact on all who worked with him. Our thoughts are with Jim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed.

As Shetland Wool Week 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on our inspiring visit to the Shetland Isles in 2022, alongside the wonderful Kate Humble. During our trip, we enjoyed meeting some incredible Shetland sheep farmers—our wool suppliers—and learning about the amazing Shetland sheep breed.
