A UK-first for greener growth… Through close partnership with Vale of White Horse District Council and Oxfordshire County Council we are delighted to announce the adoption of the District Council’s new data-driven, travel-focused Local Development Order (LDO2). Designed to last until 2041, LDO2 permits Milton Park to grow to a total of 4.2 million sq ft, fast-tracking planning approvals to just ten days. Supporting the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem, it will allow occupiers to capitalise on growth opportunities, creating thousands of new jobs whilst delivering high standards of sustainable design and biodiversity net gain. The pioneering S106 legal agreement supporting LDO2 is the UK’s first data-driven, green-focused planning agreement. It prioritises greener travel, measured and reported on by VivaCity sensors, which monitor real-time traffic flow. Benefitting occupiers and the wider community alike, it will continue to bring forward investments in public transportation (through a recently renewed partnership with Thames Travel), together with over £2 million in funding for new cycle and walking pathways connecting Steventon and Abingdon. The news follows Milton Park being named as one of the country’s most sustainable innovation communities at UKSPA - The United Kingdom Science Park Association's awards. We’d like to give a special recognition to The Vale of White Horse District Council and Oxfordshire County Council for their pioneering vision in public-private sector partnership to make it all possible and say a big thank-you to all those involved in bringing the vision to life, including: Vale of White Horse District Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Cllr Neil Fawcett, Olly Glover, Cllr Judy Roberts, James Iles – Pro Vision , Diana Lugova, Debby Hallett, Meeting Place, Perkins&Will, Ensafe, Ramboll, RPS, ASA Landscape Architects, Tyler Grange | B Corp™, SYSTRA, VivaCity, Peter Baird, Haroon Khan, Marybeth Haraz, Veronica Reynolds, Anna Fletcher, Chris Kimber-Nickelson For more details on LDO2 and what it means for Milton Park, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eMnGrQZ3 #MiltonPark #LDO #Biodiversitynetgain #s106 #Oxfordshire #Valeofwhitehorse #Innovation
