On Tuesday we welcomed Singapore’s Hatch team to an event delivered with our partners Plexal which brought together some amazing startups, key government stakeholders, funders and academics to explore how tech innovation is meeting the needs of public safety and security missions. Dr Paul Killworth, the UK’s Deputy Chief Scientific Adviser for National Security, gave a superb and thought-provoking keynote on the challenges and opportunities for bringing emerging tech to the mission front line. Mok Shao Hong gave a presentation on Hatch and the huge opportunities for UK companies to get involved in its Dimension X challenge programme (Cohort 5 is open for applications – find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gb3FaxK6) A huge thanks to our panelists Rupert Small, PhD from Egregious, John Sandall from Coefficient and Nick S. from BAE Systems for a lively discussion on how AI will impact public safety and security in the future, skilfully moderated by Plexal Technology Lead William Gurney. Thanks also to Reid D., Peter Coetzee of Polygeist, Steve K. of Telicent, Paul Vingoe of VinDo Technology, John Sandall and Nicholas Sinnott for taking part in a roundtable discussion on UK-Singapore collaboration on public safety and security, along with colleagues from the UK Home Office and Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE), TJC CEO Toby Jones and Plexal CEO Andrew Roughan. We are also hugely grateful to PIMLOC, Telicent and VIVIDA for showcasing their technology to the Hatch delegation.
