Edge-based visual autonomy software to fully automate the cameras that protect us
About us
Vizgard is a multi-award-winning SME building a safer future by automating real-time Security and Defence optical systems that traditionally require repetitive or prolonged monitoring. Optimised for ultimate performance on the edge, Vizgard's autonomy-enabling AI engine, FortifAI, provides long-range visual intelligence, external sensor fusion and low-latency platform control for reducing false alarms and operator burden. For increased situational awareness, several state-of-art computer vision capabilities are combined into this easily integrated, platform-agnostic software application for perimeter and counter-UAS security systems, or onboard unmanned surface or aerial vehicles. FortifAI's growing list of enhancements includes: -Detection and tracking of people, faces, cars, boats, drones, birds, planes and helicopters -Single object tracking and reacquisition of small and agile targets with PTZ camera control -Human behavioural prediction with an individually allocated Risk Index -Counter-UAS detect/track/classify capability from ground or air platforms -Real-time face redaction -Full-frame image stabilisation -Human-aware precision drone landing in GPS-denied environments

A big thank you to The Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC) for hosting us at the UK Home Office this week for the Security & Policing 2025 Promotional Showcase Event. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with internal Home Office teams and cross-government bodies, raising awareness of the upcoming Security & Policing event. We were proud to showcase FortifAI, our cutting-edge visual AI solution, alongside an exciting prototype for concealed weapons detection that we’re currently developing with partners. The event also sparked thought-provoking conversations about the ethical use of AI and the evolving security challenges facing the UK. It was insightful to explore how automation and AI can play a pivotal role in tackling these threats. We’re looking forward to building on the valuable discussions we had and can’t wait to see everyone at the event in March! #SecurityandPolicing2025 #AI #WeaponsDetection #SecurityInnovations #JSaRC #Innovation #CCTV #KnifeCrime

Great job by Karl Eze on BBC News' Business Today, praising the organisations supporting veterans in their transition into entrepreneurship and business.
Lest we forget. On Armistice Day I had the honour of representing Veteran Entrepreneurs and pleasure of speaking to Sally Bundock on the BBC News' Business Today programme about Veterans in Business. My personal journey in transitioning out of the British Army in 2018 has included the Goldman Sachs Veterans' Programme where I gained invaluable corporate and commercial experience in the Risk Division working alongside brilliant people like fellow Veteran Stephen Dix and amazingly intelligent Harriet Bull. It was Goldman veterans like Alex Fries, CFA who pointed me towards Heropreneurs, an excellent organisation that helps veterans start businesses, where I currently mentor other veterans. The Company of Entrepreneurs, where I am a Freeman, has also been a great network to draw from and interact with other experienced Entrepreneurs. I spoke about not only the challenges that Veterans can face with a perceived loss of identity and purpose when leaving the Armed Forces and how joining the British Army Reserve's Honourable Artillery Company helped me transition, it will be an honour to command the Regiment in 2026. But also of the benefits that veterans bring to business from skills like leadership, teamwork, problem solving and resilience as well as the values and standards that make veterans key contributes to companies and adept at founding and growing businesses. It's encouraging to see so many veterans start businesses, August Lersten at Labrys, Alex Kehoe at Vizgard, Ross Drinkwater MBE at VOLANDER to name a few, as well as veterans going into key leadership positions such as Pete Williams at Rowden, Earl G. Matthews at Neros Technologies, Callum Cameron MA (Oxon) FRGS at Helsing to name but a few as well as businesses that support defence and veterans, Philip Rowse at CubePilot, Srdjan Kovacevic at Orqa FPV and Richard Coles at BT Group. Point Zenith is a veteran owned, VC Backed by Britbots and investors lead by Ben Funk, PhD, supporting both National Security and Defence as well as Commercial Drone applications with our Lepton regulations and management system. In addition to providing support to companies like Anduril Industries, Helsing, Rowden and others, we also deliver the jHub Defence Drone Academy, providing distributed and scalable FPV drone training to UK MOD showcased by Military International Drone Racing Tournament 24 - London which I organised this September along side my team at Point Zenith, members of British Military Drone Racing and sponsors who delivered.

#DisruptiveTech 🔵 I came across this informative piece, on ISR sensors for surface maritime applications, by New Zealand-based analyst and writer, the inimitable Tim Fish. I would add to his list featuring HENSOLDT and FLIR Systems some more players including Arkeus, Overwatch Imaging, Shield AI (Sentient) and Vizgard. Electro-optic and infra-red (EO/IR) imaging systems are an essential part of any surveillance system designed to monitor the littoral regions of the world. EO/IR equipment forms one part of the wider intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities in coastal areas and islands that includes radar, satellite imaging and other sensing devices. EO/IR sensors are important as they detect reflected light radiated in the electromagnetic spectrum, including bands beyond the visible spectrum, producing high-resolution images in real-time. Compared to radar and satellite imagery, EO/IR systems are shorter in range but provide a much more detailed image of an object. This can give the level of detail necessary to support decision-making and provide enough data for precise target identification and classification. Furthermore, EO/IR is passive when detecting radiation giving a stealthy option for surveillance. Meanwhile, whilst radar offers longer-range detection it is often active, emitting a radio frequency signal and detecting the returns. This means radar signals can be detected by the target. Other sensors such as optical imaging satellite cannot see through clouds which means they are limited in bad weather. #EO #IR #ISR #littoral #opticalsurveillance #navy Asian Military Review, Campaign Catapult, Pravo Consulting
