Which? director of advocacy and policy, Rocio Concha Galguera, took part in a panel session, hosted by techUK on 'The Industrialisation of AI', alongside Peter Corpe (Appian), Kanishka Narayan MP, & Josh Robson (ScaleUp Institute). Rocio said, "The Government's AI Opportunities Action Plan aims to boost the economy by £400 billion by 2030, this is a massive opportunity. But success depends on public and consumer trust in this new technology, which the plan overlooks. Many of the AI innovative applications will be in consumer markets and their success hinges on consumer trust and adoption. AI applications in all sectors must be transparent and accountable for adoption to match ambition. Consumers must be part of the journey, without consumer trust, the plan’s goals risk falling short."

Trading Standards are responsible for clamping down on unfair and illegal business practices, but Which? found shocking disparities in staffing levels across the country. With some services stretched so thinly, the essential work they need to carry out is almost impossible. This postcode lottery means unscrupulous traders continue getting away with illegal activity, ripping people off and leaving them to face devastating consequences, financial and emotional. Writing in The i Paper, Rocio Concha Galguera, Director of Advocacy and Policy, makes the case for reforming the service. #TradingStandards #ConsumerRights
