Whilst retro fitting an air blast cooler is not the most technically challenging project per say, for this local client, we needed to install an Emmegi unit on their existing power pack without drilling or welding a mounting bracket to the reservoir. In addition, due to the environment in which this HPU operates, a hinged cover is utilised which snuggly fits around it to keep it clean (which means there was limited free space inside the cover) The combination of these circumstances, meant plenty of careful measuring to come up with a CAD generated bracket that allowed us to mount the cooler to the existing reservoir lid bolt points. From CAD to a laser cut bracket, which was then powder coated by our local guys Marley Oakey and then installed by Oliver Starr, we ended up with a finished unit that looked totally OEM. While installing the new cooler, we also completed a full service of the HPU, fitted new filters, installed a desiccant air breather, replaced a damaged pressure gauge and cleaned the existing oil in the reservoir utilising our portable filtration rig.
