About us
Wilmington Grammar School for Girls In Pursuit of Excellence is the school motto and this conveys our school vision: We aim to encourage everyone within our community to pursue excellence and set their sights extremely high. We recognise however, that we are all developing at every stage of our life and that there will always be new challenges and opportunities on the horizon. The markers of excellence along the way come in many guises, be that academic success, sporting success, musical success or relationship success. At the heart of our community is the desire to nurture a passion for learning and help our students to secure successful futures through providing an inspirational, challenging and nurturing learning environment where everyone is valued equally. We help our girls to graduate from WGSG with essential qualities such as independence, resilience, tenacity and creativity and provide an environment where success is celebrated and where students are at the centre of the decisions we make.

Very proud to have Mrs Lawson and Mrs Dhaliwal as published authors through their work on the Epistemic Insight curriculum!
Great to finally have a hard copy in my hands. Feels like it's been in production for AGES! Thanks to Sherralyn Simpson MA, RCDP, MAAT for her epic editing work, and to my chapter co-authors (and research co-creators) from Wilmington Grammar School for Girls and Astor Secondary School. The work was funded by Templeton World Charity Foundation as part of their BQiC funding. #CCCUProud #EpistemicInsight #EducationResearch

Wilmington Grammar School for Girls reposted this
NEW SCHOOL REVIEWS 📝 Highlights of recent school visits include, Collège Français Bilingue de Londres (CFBL), striking a fine balance between the high expectations of a French education and a more rounded approach. Wilmington Grammar School for Girls, is a school for bright pupils who thrive in a balanced environment, who appreciate solid teaching and mutual respect. At St Michael’s International School, parents say, "If you want your child to go to school within a structured, learning environment and stay humble and grounded, this is the school for you.” Crosfields School, they offer a ‘whole-school approach’ but here it’s really true. One school. One community. Teetering on the brink of glory! Reading School is a muscular grammar school firing on all cylinders and providing a traditional, first-class, no-frills education. And at Northwood College for Girls GDST, they are advocates for a purposeful culture, inspiring staff and go-getting girls who want to make a difference. Congratulations to our amazing Year 7 and Year 9 Netball teams. Year 7 started the season with a 10-0 win in their first match, followed by a 7-1 win in the second! Year 9 started their season with a 24-0 win! Mrs Iles proudly celebrated the “fantastic play by all”. Well done to all who took part, we are really proud of you.

Wilmington Girls Grammar school is celebrating with a truly exceptional GCSE cohort who has achieved some absolutely phenomenal results this year. Michelle Lawson, Head Teacher said, “This year’s outstanding results are truly reflective of an outstanding year group, who have shown the very essence of the school’s values throughout their time here, they have been resilient, committed and really striven for excellence, but they have also been collegiate and determined that every student will succeed, truly supporting one another through coaching and encouragement. Today has seen the impact of that work as they have achieved some of the highest grades the school has seen, with over a third of grades at 9 & 8.” https://lnkd.in/ec5T5nvN

A huge thank you to all of the support Karla has given so many of our students over the years. Good luck in your new venture! We are grateful, however, to still have a firm partnership with The Life Skills Company for years to come.
The TLSC team took some time out of a very busy summer schedule yesterday to say a final farewell to Karla Dicker before she starts her new life in York! Karla has been running the South East patch for 2.5 years and has bought positive energy, resilience and a smile with her to schools and the team every day. We are very sorry to see you go Karla Dicker but wish you all the very best for your future and we have no doubt that you’ll do well and continue to ‘make a difference’!

Congratulations Teri! We look forward to hearing about the amazing things you will achieve! It was great to work with you.
Reflecting on this past academic year now the summer holidays have arrived, I am amazed at how much I’ve learnt and achieved. Now also five months pregnant, I proudly celebrate earning my QTS in Computing through KMT Teacher Training. I thank all the team at KMT for all the support and training you’ve provided this year. My B placement at Wilmington Grammar School for Girls provided an opportunity to experience a different environment, and I greatly benefited from working with the exceptional team there. Most note worthy, working at Bexleyheath Academy has been incredibly rewarding, and securing the Student Success Leader position to support students' academic growth has been a highlight. Once upon a time I had teachers that transformed my pathway in life, and I look forward to providing students with the same opportunities. I eagerly anticipate the future opportunities that await!

As the year draws to an end, we wish all of our school community a Happy Summer. A time for staff and students to step away from books and computers and spend with friends, family and loved ones. Thank you to all who made the year such a success! #happysummer #downtime
