Wilmington Grammar Schools Alumni

Our A-level certificate afternoon is taking place next Wednesday, 18th December at 4pm. We look forward to welcoming our most recent year 13 students back to the WGSG site to celebrate their academic successes. It is also an opportunity to further extend our alumni network and invite ex-students to collaborate and share experiences with us, and our current cohort of students.

Last week we had the great pleasure of welcoming Joseph Robinson back to WG6 where he ran a brilliant insight session for our 6th form students. Since leaving us here in Wilmington Joseph has enjoyed roles within broadcasting, media and journalism managing and creating content for brands including Adidas, Gillette & HSBC. Thank you for sharing your expertise and time with our students – as you no doubt saw from the level of engagement and questions asked, you have certainly inspired and motivated them! Our Student Correspondent Ruby added “I really enjoyed the session today; Joe opened my eyes to journalistic opportunities and roles I hadn’t even considered!” Working alongside our network of alumni is an important part of the careers work we do here at WG6. It helps us to build bridges between the world of work and education, but also supports our students to understand what possibilities and opportunities are out there for them. We are currently looking for employers to offer Year 10 WGSB students a week of work experience from Monday 8th July to Friday 12th July 2024.
