Networking and Support: Join our community to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build a strong support network. We will be hosting networking events, creating podcasts and helping businesses to improve their diversity hires through guidance and advice. 🌍 Join the Movement: Are you passionate about shaping the future of Software and Engineering? "Drax Power Station near Selby in North Yorkshire, the club aims to promote STEM education among young girls – a key part of Drax’s long-term community engagement strategy." I think this should become a standard practise in ALL schools. When I was in education, a career in a STEM subject wasn't something that was even spoken about. How do we expect to increase representation in tech if girls aren't encouraged by this at a young age? How do you think we tackle this? https://lnkd.in/eEBjTdMn

Today is Ada Lovelace Day. You shouldn't need telling who she is, but just in case: She's the Victorian mathematician who was the world's first published computer programmer. Today is a celebration of her and all other women in science, technology, engineering and maths - past, present and future. Today, Kelly Becker of Schneider Electric said: “Diversity and inclusion need to be a business imperative if we are to drive innovation and investment in the manufacturing and tech sectors. A lot of careful thinking and planning must continue to drive initiatives, not just gender but also diversity of thought, experience, and background. “We all have the power to make a difference and hold the ladder up to success. Different perspectives build stronger teams, helping to unlock innovation, investment, and new opportunities to thrive.” And talking of Women in STEM, we have two terrific panel discussions taking place at Enlit Europe in Milan as part of our Women in Energy series: Inspiring Female-led Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Energy Transition, and The Energy Transition - A Female Perspective. Wise words from Rajani R. regarding 5 practises that can help you succeed in your career. One that stands out for me personally is the 'challenge reframe'. When things used to go wrong, or I was struggling in particular areas, I used to feel a bit defeated and would sometimes want to give up. Now, I sit back, re-evaluate everything I've done and look at valuable lessons I can take away from my experience, and how this can contribute to future plans and growth. Are there any that stand out for you?

This really is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to 'reasons' to support in-person working. Putting aside the idea that women should be husband hunting in the workplace, we know that WFH / remote work can benefit employees and organisations. Reasons to attend offices should be evidence based and have purpose to get the maximum benefit for everyone. Enough of the ridiculous headlines. Edit: as several commenters have noted, Bridget actually didn’t meet Mark Darcy in the office. She did however meet all round bad guy Daniel Cleaver. More proof, if required, that she’d have been better off WFH.

'We really struggle to hire female engineers, any suggestions on what we can do?' 🤔 Well, let's start by looking at what women actually want... We conducted a survey, and here's what they said...👇 P.s If you're mandating full time office working, without any flexible hours, then unfortunately, as women are still typically primary care-givers, you will struggle to hire more women. Message me if you want advice or guidance! #womeninSTEM #DEI
