A Christmas Message from Chris Boden-Hook, Managing Director 🎁 "As 2024 draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible year for Wright Engineering. This year has been full of milestones that truly showcase the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our entire team. We’ve delivered landmark projects, including Etex and Mountsorrel, which highlight the depth of our capabilities. The addition of Rope Access services marks a significant step forward, underlining our focus on the Energy from Waste market and installation projects. Our fabrication team has also continued to set the standard, delivering exceptional work, including the completion of our largest diameter silos to date. This year, we were honoured to be recognised as Small/Medium Employer of the Year at the ECITB Awards and named one of Grant Thornton UK LLP’s Fastest Growing Businesses—achievements that reflect the strength of our team and our vision for growth. On a personal note, I am incredibly proud of the individuals who have achieved so much this year. Nathan and James completed their apprenticeships, and Shaun Chadwick, Paul Shutler, and I graduated with degrees—a testament to our culture of lifelong learning and development. We’ve also made great strides in sustainability, focusing on decarbonisation to ensure we remain at the forefront of engineering innovation. None of this would have been possible without the support of our clients, partners, and every single member of our team. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for making 2024 a standout year. As we look ahead to 2025, I’m excited about the opportunities that await and confident in our ability to continue achieving great things together. Our team’s ambitious running challenge has reached incredible milestones, and we couldn’t be prouder. 🏃🏻♂️ £5,170 raised so far for vulnerable children in the local community, thanks to the amazing charity From The Heart. 💰 A total of 3,196 miles run across 532 hours – rain or shine, work or holiday, the dedication hasn’t stopped! Runs completed in Greece, Spain, Italy, Australia, Scotland, England, and Tenerife, showing true commitment no matter where life takes them. 🌎 This year, our Managing Director Chris Boden-Hook, Construction Director Shaun Chadwick, and Site Foreman Chris Espin have balanced this epic challenge with demanding work schedules, family life, and even completing degrees. Last week at Wright HQ, we got into the Christmas spirit with the amazing Sherwood Fired Pizza Van serving up 48-hour slow-proved sourdough pizzas – free of charge. 🍕 To join in, everyone donned their Christmas jumpers or something festive to celebrate #ChristmasJumperDay. 🎅🏽 To further mark the occasion, we’re also proud to have donated £500 to Save the Children UK, supporting their incredible work to help children across the world. Last week, Tony and Holly from Wright Engineering, alongside Jake from Wright Renewables, were proud to support the FTHC Toy Appeal. 🎁 We spent the day delivering toys to seven schools and community hubs in the local area—helping to bring some festive cheer to families this Xmas. 🎄 We and Wright Renewables were delighted to donate toys and assist with the deliveries, playing a small part in making this wonderful initiative a success. On Friday, we delivered over £1,000 worth of toys to the From The Heart Charity (FTHC) as part of this year’s Toy Appeal, thanks to the generosity of our team and the funds raised during Chris' recent charity run. 🎅🏽 These gifts will make their way to children and families in need across the Bassetlaw District of North Nottinghamshire. We’re also proud to say that Wright Renewables, part of the Wright Group, joined in by making a meaningful contribution as well.🎄 Next week, we’ll be helping them with van deliveries (Tuesday, December 10th), to ensure these gifts reach the schools and families who need them most.
