At the recent British Legal Technology Awards, we were thrilled to be named runner-up in the Alliance of the Year category. This recognition highlights our longstanding partnership with Macfarlanes, supporting them with eDisclosure, trial bundles, and general litigation services.   The awards evening was a fantastic event, and the XBundle team thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the occasion. Our sponsorship of the dodgems was a particular hit, adding a touch of fun that everyone seemed to enjoy! This year marked my first time attending the Everlaw Summit, held over three days in San Francisco. I had the privilege of being invited to speak on a panel titled "Straight from the Headlines: Uncovering Key Evidence in High-Profile Litigation." The Summit, now a staple event for Everlaw, welcomed about 500 attendees from their diverse user base. As the sole attendee from the UK outside the Everlaw team, I hope to see more UK representation in the coming years. The venue, the historic Palace Hotel, a fantastic high class period venue, providing a exceptional backdrop to the high quality sessions and events Everlaw organised. The agenda was a well-balanced mix of educational and training sessions, product showcases, panel discussions, and keynote talks, starting with Everlaw’s CEO and founder, AJ Shankar Key takeaways from the Summit: 1) Industry Insight: The Summit offers a valuable opportunity to learn how various legal professionals tackle common challenges in eDiscovery. 2) Learning and Networking: It’s an ideal setting to connect with the people driving Everlaw’s innovation and growth. 3) Direct Feedback: You can engage directly with the product development teams, providing feedback on upcoming releases. 4) Tech Awareness: We gained insights into emerging tech issues, such as the rise of AI-driven deepfakes, which pose new risks for credible but falsified evidence. Outside of the Summit, my highlight had to be the experience of a Waymo driverless taxi ride—a fascinating glimpse into the future of autonomous travel!
