Stealth-Mode Start-Up Client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy, planning, and operations of a potentially fast-growing web and mobile platform. This role will be instrumental in financial forecasting, capital raising, risk management, and ensuring financial compliance as the company scales globally.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial operations in tech-driven startups, experience with fundraising and investor relations, and a proven ability to manage financial risk and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives and long-term vision.
- Oversee budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cost management processes to ensure fiscal discipline.
- Lead fundraising efforts, including equity financing, venture capital engagement, and strategic partnerships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, providing financial insights, updates, and performance reports.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow management practices to ensure operational liquidity and financial health.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare and present financial statements, performance reports, and KPI dashboards to the executive team and board members.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while balancing growth investments and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards in all operating regions.
- Work closely with other teams to align financial goals with business strategies.
- Build and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and financial excellence.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to assess potential growth trajectories and market challenges.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in senior finance leadership roles, preferably in a tech, SaaS, or digital platform startup.
- Excellent command of the English Language in all forms.
- Previous start-up experience would be an advantage.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in fundraising, investor relations, and managing capital markets strategies.
- Strong expertise in financial forecasting, modelling, and long-term strategic planning.
- Proficiency with financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero).
- Deep understanding of international financial compliance and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial strategies to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing finance teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with changing priorities.
- A strategic financial leader with a passion for building sustainable and scalable financial operations.
- Skilled in balancing financial discipline with strategic growth investments.
- Proactive in identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- A clear communicator, capable of building trust with investors and stakeholders.
- Adaptable to evolving business environments and capable of making critical decisions under pressure.
- Passionate about driving financial transparency and accountability across the organization.
Equity-only at present, to transition to a salaried, full-time permanent position when funding is secured.
