✨ Celebrating Success at City St George's, University of London! 🎓 On Tuesday, 21 January 2025, I had the honour of participating in the academic procession at the City, University of London Degree Congregation for the School of Science & Technology at the Barbican. It was an incredibly proud moment to see students I had the privilege of working with—as a lecturer, supervisor, and examiner—cross the stage and celebrate their achievements. Being able to congratulate them in person made the occasion even more special. A total of 26 MSc students in Human-Computer Interaction Design graduated that day, with most attending the ceremony. Below are three pictures I had been looking forward to sharing, featuring (and tagged) Dr Axel Niklasson and MScs Chiara Pasquot, Teresa Calzavara, and Maleeha Shaikh, as well as Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design (HCID) colleagues Professor Stephanie Wilson, Tracey Booth, PhD and Yours Truly. A fantastic day, filled with joy and pride. Congratulations to all graduates—I look forward to seeing where your careers take you next! Onwards! #GraduationDay #CityStGeorgesUniversityLondon #AcademicSuccess #HCI #ProudLecturer

A big well done Siley M. 💚 City STEM is proud of you!
So happy to announce that i have graduated with a BSc in Computer Science with Hons (and placement year) from City, University of London St. George's University City St George’s has opened many doors for me that i never thought i could achieve with a back story like mine. it has been an absolute privilege. A little timeline: My journey started at Kingston College where i did a BTEC in Games Design and then University for the Creative Arts where i initially did my BSc in Games Technology, these 2 institutions really pushed me to my potential helping me understand my capabilities. City St george’s led me to one of the best career and employment services within London, the university truly cares about our practical placements and our futures especially Anne Lloyd (FHEA) who has helped me MASSIVELY throughout my journey. Thank you so much Anne for everything from my placement at EY to helping with cloud technology and digital transformation with Accenture truly phenomenal you have been to students. Without your support i wouldn’t have been here. Corporate Relations and Employability Unit School of Science and Technology I would also like to thank all my peers at EY who supported me. I have made some life long friends, learned great new skills and more about the working world & cybersecurity 💛 I was also awarded the Deans award by Professor Rajkumar Roy for outstanding professional placement✨ University of London thank you for trusting me to be a Residential Advisor (RA) to our students, from living in the intercollegiate halls to then being able to give pastoral care. Making so many friends, people from all cultures. Thank you for also allowing me to attend your Foundation Day at Senate House meeting our honorary students and the privilege to meet Her Royal Highness Princess Anne. My final dissertation receiving a 1st class creating a full stack application of ways future developers can help code applications for users with Mental Health specifically using Dialectical Behavioural Therapy by recalling our happy moments thank you Cristina Gacek without your push during my 4th year i would not have made it, thank you for your supervision and care 🫶 Lastly thank you to all my friends i have made at university including Bansari Sanghvi Estella Himona Sarah Bugshan Yasamin Kardar women like you are the reason we get to excel in technology! Lastly a massive thank you to professor Golnaz Badkobeh nominating me for the speech, another amazing role model in STEM, one whose footsteps i wish to continue following.
