As a Bid Manager, you will lead and manage the full bid lifecycle—from identifying opportunities to proposal submission—ensuring high-quality, winning proposals. You’ll collaborate across sales, technical, finance, and legal teams to develop bid strategies that position Fortescue Zero at the forefront of zero emissions power systems. To commemorate National Apprenticeship Week, we were proud to host our very first Apprenticeship Open Evening at Fortescue Zero —introducing young talent to the future of battery technology. Led by our Training & Apprenticeships Lead, Rachel Greenaway, and Senior Production Manager for Prototype & Test, Ed Smith , the evening welcomed over 30 aspiring engineers eager to learn about our Battery Build Apprenticeship Programme. Our Haul Truck Power System replicates 2MWH of diesel power, with an advanced battery sub-pack utilising our tier one Motorsport technology, which increases torque through the Power System, it is the highest energy density system available for a mine haul truck. The system is completely customisable and scalable in modular fashion to power needs and rigorously tested, proven out in real-world usage on Fortescue’s mine sites, in temperatures ranging from -20 to 60 degrees. Advanced safety and performance monitoring is via Elysia - Battery Intelligence from Fortescue, actively detecting potential anomalies, our data enables early intervention to minimise untoward safety risks. Anglo-Australian partnership enabling Real Zero On Thursday 20th February Fortescue Zero welcomed The Hon Stephen Smith, Australia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, to our Banbury site - a R&D and manufacturing facility critical to the global decarbonisation of heavy industry. At Banbury, Fortescue Zero builds and ships the Power System for the Liebherr T264 Mine Haul truck; an electric system replicating 2MWH of diesel power, with an advanced battery sub-pack utilising our tier one Motorsport technology, making this the highest energy density system available for a mine haul truck. Utilised additionally in Dozers and Graders, this system will enable Fortescue to stop burning 630 million litres of diesel every year. During the visit, hosted by Head of Group Government Relations Daniel Worrall and Steve Hudson, Fortescue Zero's UK Operations Director, The Hon Stephen Smith witnessed first-hand our cutting-edge battery and Real Zero Power Systems technology, critical to achieving industrial scale decarbonisation. A huge milestone for UK transport decarbonisation. 🇬🇧   Yesterday’s Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) and Zenzic reception - Economic Growth, Innovation, and Scale-up in the UK’s Automotive Industry - was a powerful reminder of the progress being made towards a zero emissions future.   At Fortescue Zero, we’re proving that eliminating fossil fuels from HGVs and heavy-duty off-road vehicles isn’t just possible - it’s happening now.
