About us

Green Key is a leading international eco-label for tourism and hospitality facilities, providing a robust and esteemed award to businesses operating in an environmentally sustainable way. The Green Key program is run by the international non-profit organisation the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and managed in England by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy. The program is endorsed by the World Tourism Organisation, UN Environment Programme and its criteria is recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The award sets the standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism sector and currently has over 3200 establishments awarded in 65 countries. At Green Key we aim to: * Increase the use of sustainable methods of operation and technology in the individual establishments, thereby reducing the overall use of resources. * Raise awareness and create behavioural changes of staff, guests and suppliers of individual establishments. * Increase the use of sustainable methods and raise awareness to create behavioural changes in the hospitality and tourism industry overall Green Key is eligible for hotels, hostels, small accommodations, campsites, holiday parks, conference centres, restaurants, and visitor attractions.
