Last Friday, our team took part in One Day at Christmas, a heartwarming annual event organised by the UK events industry. It’s all about giving back to the local community, ensuring everyone feels connected and supported during the festive season. From sharing meals to creating memories, we were proud to help make this Christmas extra special for those who might otherwise feel lonely or isolated. Celebrating One Day at Christmas 🙌 🎄 Last Friday, we hosted our first ever One Day at Christmas event, welcoming almost 200 older and isolated people from across Greater Manchester. A charity event held simultaneously across 8 UK based venues, it was a wonderful chance for members of the events industry to give back to the local community! It was a wonderfully festive celebration, that would not have been possible without the incredible support of our client, city, and event partners... We would like to say a massive thank you to: - Alliance North West Limited, for providing crackers and napkins - Ambutech Pre-Hospital Care, for providing safeguarding support - The Bridgewater Hall Singers, for their choir performance - Dunsters Farm, for their donation of soft drinks - Greg Scott, violinist providing entertainment on the day - STERLING EVENT GROUP LIMITED, for their AV support - TLC, for the donations of table cloths and chair coverings - Typocom Visual Communication, for their gift tag design - Vivid, for donating decorations and Incandescent performers to add to the entertainment of the day - Wai Yin Society for their dance performance - Representatives from Full Circle Events & Exhibitions, NHS ConfedExpo, Montgomery Group, IRIS Software Group, Manchester City Council, Ways & Means Events, and Informa for volunteering their time on the day! We also had an incredible response to our call for donations for the raffle we held on the day. The SEC has had a touch of festive magic sprinkled over it, and we are ready to welcome our guests for One Day at Christmas 2024!

Today we welcome One Day at Christmas into the Arena, an event which brings together more than 200 people who may be alone, vulnerable or isolated at Christmas. Guests invited to the event will already have been engaged in programmes ran by community groups across the city. One of the guests, Raymond Constable, recently called into Coventry Building Society Arena for a chat. Raymond began attending the Coventry Building Society’s friendship groups after losing his wife. Raymond talks about how his life has changed completely since joining the groups and how they are so important for people who are in similar positions to him. Coventry Building Society Mash Media

For the second year running, Tecna proudly volunteered at One Day at Christmas at Farnborough International - a fantastic charity event organised by Mash Media to bring festive joy to those who are alone or isolated. 🎄✨ We had the privilege of greeting guests, serving meals, spreading Christmas cheer, and sharing plenty of laughs throughout the day. To add to the festivities, we also built an advent calendar tree, packed with fun prizes for lucky winners!
