The JH Düsseldorf is a typical city hostel. It is located on a busy road, which is double: on the one hand, you must not be very noisy (on this side of the building) and on the other hand, the bus stop is right in front of the door. The other side of the building is in the direction of the Rhine, where you also have a beautiful view from the breakfast room. The rooms are convenient and (even for JH standard) rather small, even the bathroom. Positive: The bathroom and toilet are separate, which families appreciate. The food is rich but quality only average. This starts with the breads and is enough to dessert. But ok, because no one will expect the highest gaumen joy for the price, it's okay. I feel very disturbing the vegetarian compulsory joy: let everyone choose what he wants. But no, two days a week you are promoted and are to be educated for meatless food - a stupid attitude ...My personal highlight was but putty sneak on the ”Vega Day” - that was unvoluntary funny, class! Stark improvement is the leisure offer and the bistro. If you don't want to go to the city again in the evening, the JH is simply boring. No billiard, no dart, no table tennis (only outside)...da the kids have to almost access their mobile phones. And the Bistro area is everything other than invitation. We really know nice Bistros in Juhes, where you could spend so many cozy evenings (e.g. Pirmasens), but here? All in all ”satisfactory” - yes, there was still a disagreement about the price at check-in. In advance, the talk was about a ”offer price” of which you wouldn't want to know any more at arrival (College Xy who had emailed it, be still new ...naja). I found limit ... Absolutely OK for a trip to Düsseldorf, but for us no hostels with repeat request. There we are simply better used to - also from hostels.
