A symbol of Neo Renaissance in Berlin, the Berlin Cathedral

#europetrip One of the symbolic structure in Berlin is the Berlin Cathedral, currently serving as a monumental Protestan Church. It was established in 1451 as the Castle chapel of the Berlin Palace, and also the crypt of the Hohenzollern dynasty, where there is a crypt below the cathedral with more than 100 coffins. The current structure underwent several remodeling and expansion in 1538, 1750 and 1905. The current structure is built based on the Neo Renaissance facade under the Prussian state, with the completed cost of 11.5 million Marks . Although partially destroyed during the Allied bombings, the state quickly recovered the structure and reinaugurated in year 1993 for visits. Today, it serves as a prominent Protestant Church in the city for worshippers.
