The Wonderful Kamikōchi Area

#japantrip Came here during late October and the foliage was spectacular. Every turn, every corner and every sight felt so lyrical and poetic. The river was turquoise and the Japanese larch trees were tinted in an autumnal golden yellow. The only downside is it gets relatively crowded at Kappa Bridge later in the day. We were lucky that we hopped onto the earliest morning bus and had a peaceful time around Taisho pond before the crowd arrives.
