Pantheon
Rome
|1.58km from city centerWe booked boldly Torre Caparanica despite quite a few of the TripAdvisor reviews, which we have thought were based on unusually unrealistic expectations, and we were not wrong. First the location- so central and so quiet at the same time, on Piazza Capranica, in the middle of the middle of Pantheon area of Rome! The room was spacious, greatly decorated, without even mentioning a superb masterpiece on the ceiling and the upper parts of the walls. The staff were extraordinary welcoming, friendly and helpful. everything worked like a charm, from airport transfer to the reception. As we were entering the building I was trying to figure out what were all those complaints in reviews that I had read about. The area is super safe, the entry to the building is quite grandiose, and the room that we stayed in was marvelous. And no, I do not think that the elevator is small in contrary, I though it just added to the feeling of cosiness of the entire building. All in all, a great experience, worth maximum rating!

|2.27km from city centerGood location, very convenient by bus, walking to the Colosseum is also very close. When I arrived at night, I couldn’t find a place to live and die. I didn’t think of the hotel in a church. When I was sleeping, the quilt was very thin. I felt that all Italy was a thin quilt. Breakfast was not good. I drank the most difficult coffee to drink so far. I suggest that I should find a cafe outside to enjoy breakfast.....

Flaminio Parioli
Rome
|2.35km from city centerThe hotel itself is great - large rooms, a bed which was bigger than expected (their double bed is at least the size of a U.S queen and was one mattress not 2 twins pushed together which I encountered in other hotels in Italy). Upbeat, colorful decor was nice to return to after long day. Breakfast buffet was good, as was dinner the 1 night I ate there; front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Overall ambiance of hotel was nice. Only drawback was location, was a bit of a walk (~35 minutes to Colosseum, slightly closer to heart of historic center) to the main attractions. I normally don't mind walking so thought this would be fine, however, most of these attractions also involve walking so you are essentially on your feet all day, and the distance made it difficult to return to hotel for a break/shower. It was 90 degrees every day I was there despite the fact that it was October, which also contributed to the distance seeming too far. There is a metro stop nearby, which I used once and I suppose I could have used more; cabs are difficult to find and less appealing because of all the traffic. If I had it to do over again, I would probably book something closer to the center, even if it meant paying more or staying in a less nice hotel.

Trastevere
Rome
|2.91km from city centerWe booked this hotel for a three night stay before our cruise. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our corner room had a cute balcony and the décor, furnishings, and vibe is sexy modern. They have a fabulous restaurant where you can grab the breakfast buffet. So many amazing choices. We also had dinner here one night and drinks another. It's tucked away in a very lively and fun neighborhood. Around the corner are tons of restaurants and shops. It's a 6 minute walk to Piazza di Santa Maria where we bought souvenirs, ate gelato and pizza, and hung out with the night crowd. The main street around the corner It's a 35 minute walk to the colosseum and a 45 minute walk to the Vatican. We did each of these on different days. It's definitely centrally located and I would stay here again.

Portuense
Rome
|4.24km from city centerAccommodation is always important and I must say I had a great experience with this hostel. Sometimes I even forgot it was a hostel. I had a single room and a private bathroom. The room was small and cute. Always clean and housekeeping came everyday. I was reluctant to choose a hostel when visiting Rome because I had a unpleasant experience when I visited Sydney but if other hostels provided the attention I was given such as Radio hotel, I would most certainly not be reluctant prior to booking. There was a little issue with a small leak from the bidet in the bathroom and when I mentioned it to the front desk, it was fixed immediately. Every single person I encountered at the front desk were very nice and provided me with great detail how to explore the city and best travel options to get there. As a single female traveler I did not feel uncomfortable at any time. The train station near to this hostel is Roma Travestere. About a 8 minute walk or so from the hostel which you can buy train tickets to visit other cities if you wish. There is also the number 8 tram near the train station which will take you directly into the hotspot where you can roam and see great sites like the Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps etc. Thumbs up to this place.

It's a pity that I didn't have time to try the skills of the hotel's Michelin chef. I will choose again next time I come to Rome

Rome
|11.99km from city centerFantastic village, beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. Train station is around a 30 minute walk from the village where you can get cheap trains to Rome and the airport. Great place to get a good night’s rest and good value too. I stayed there between flights so it was convenient as it is only 1 hour 15 minutes by train to the airport. There are restaurants, plenty of toilets and even a shuttle bus. I didn’t use any of these services because I just needed to sleep but there are lots of amenities. I stayed in a basic room which had 2 beds, table, light and power socket. That’s all you need. There is a heater and blankets for when it gets cold. A generous amount of toilet paper is also provided which can be used in the shared toilets. Staff are friendly. All in all a great place to stay!

|1.76km from city centerThe location is perfect, you can do everything by walk, the area very safe and quiet (a lot of security since it's near the parlement). We were really grateful that there was AC (August ~36°C). The only issue we had was for check-in, we didn't get any feedback and also the contact number on trip.com was not up to date. But except that, our stay was lovely!

|0.31km from city centerThis is a darling boutique hotel. The staff went above and beyond, answering so many questions and helping me with directions, even recommending a hair salon open on a Sunday. The hotel is very clean and in a great location. I easily walked to the Colosseum. The rooms are small, that’s why it’s a “boutique.” It was perfect for one person. I imagine it would be good for a husband and wife, but it would not be enough room for families or even friends traveling together. I would stay here again.

Magliana Vecchia
Rome
|11.33km from city centerWe were traveling with a group of students from the US and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading the last few reviews. Our rooms were very large with balconies that overlooked a football field or the pool area. The beds were firm but we checked the mattresses and they appeared clean (and some seemed to be brand new, perhaps in response to earlier reviews?). The bathroom was clean with a tub/shower that had ample hot water and water pressure and we were provided with four towels for two guests; although they were on the thin side they did the job (we don't use washcloths so unlike prior reviewers this was not an issue for us); there was also bar soap and small containers of body wash/shampoo provided. There was a cute little kitchen area (but we didn't use it) that contained a microwave, a small fridge, and a hot pot with teas and sugars (but no coffee or creamer - perhaps an area of improvement?). We heard no noise, either from outside or from other rooms, and the TV worked fine. There were two lifts that operated well and quickly, which was especially important for our group with lots of luggage. The breakfast was small but had delicious chocolate croissants that we all greatly enjoyed. We had a specified breakfast area and time for our group, but we adhered to the time and did not experience any issues. The staff was very nice and even provided a croissant on a small dish with a candle (and a lighter) so we could sing Happy Birthday to one of our kids! The hotel is on the outskirts of the city, so prior reviewers are correct in saying that it is not near anything and requires driving - but this is what we prefer as there isn't anything nearby that the kids wanted to sneak off and do! We greatly enjoyed our stay!

|2.13km from city centerWe lived staying Navona Gallery Suites. The location is superb, just a 15 minute walk to St. Peter’s Basilica and The Vatican. Ten minute walk to the Pantheon. Twenty minute walk to the Forum and Colosseum. So many churches all over this part of Rome. We felt completely safe in this neighborhood and the service staff were impeccable. Our suite was set back off the road through a courtyard so it was very quiet.

|19.58km from city centerThere is a parking lot on the ground floor of the hotel, a little far from the airport, no problem with self-driving! The room was clean, the first hand went straight to the right and the first one was a great restaurant. The breakfast was not fixed. It was also a right-turning, straight-going cafe. It was very good to open a cafe at 5 in the morning.

|0.48km from city centerThe rooms were as pictured and clean. Receptionist answered questions quickly prior to arrival. It was easy to find but the hotel is actually on the 3 floor which we didn’t know. We called when we got there as we were unaware of this. Lots of stairs. They do have a very tiny and sketchy elevator. I don’t like elevators so I would never ever step foot in this one. Reception from 8-8. The keys were difficult to navigate so pay attention when he shows you how to use them! Design was nice and the rooms were clean. Receptionist mailed our postcards. He was very friendly. He showed us a map and where the locations of things were and how far. It was 10-15 from colosseum, 10 from Trevor fountain and 10 from Spanish steps. 30 min from Travestere. We did not go to Vatican as he said it was a 1 hour walk and we were only in Rome for 24 hours. 10 minute walk from train station. We did walk this there and back with all our luggage and two small children and it was fine. A little busy but not bad.

|3.52km from city center1, location, TERMINI train station is very convenient to take the A line, get off in less than ten minutes. One of the best choices for the Vatican Museum in the morning, it's convenient for Tete, and you can walk in three minutes. It is strongly recommended to make an online reservation in advance, with the printed order entered, and the automatic machine exchange ticket inside. 2, breakfast, very good 3, service, very good 4, the price is very good, it is two nights with very high cost performance. 5, the surrounding environment, found a very good steakhouse, Chinese food is also good, Sichuan cuisine is still authentic 6, other traffic: when you go, a certain rickshaw delivery station is also very convenient The hotel front desk also has its own recommendations. The door is not big, the bathroom is not all Mingwei, but it is very clean.

Rome
|12.24km from city centerBeautiful Hotel, great value, a bit far from Rome and any activities. The pool had not opened yet so not much to do as tourists in this beautiful hotel . The staff was friendly and helpful. Front desk helpful. As others have discussed, on multiple occasions, room service phones go unanswered, just ring and ring. Breakfast for $15. Per person is the best you will ever experience. The wait staff were awesome. The shuttle service into Rome is a good value, $15 round trip but only runs 4 times per day, does not leave early enough to get you to the airport for an early flight and returns at 9pm, just when the Romans are waking up. The shuttle also stops at 2-3 other INH properties, which causes it to sell out days in advance ( frequently). If the shuttle is full or the times don’t work, now you are into serious dollars to hire a taxi into Rome center. Depending upon where you are going, $45-60 one way ( for 2). We also paid $50 taxi fare from the airport each way.so over the course of the 4.5 days at the hotel, we spent $250-$300 for transportation just to get to town. If I were not staying on points, I would consider an in-town option.

|11.29km from city centerWe stayed for 4 nights at the Holiday Inn, the airport shuttle was not available to bring us from the airport but we were able to get it back so can't really complain. No problems with check in, the ladies on reception were very friendly as was everyone we encountered at the hotels. Rooms were good size, very clean and serviced every day. Breakfast has plenty of variety there is something for everyone, honestly if you couldn't find something to eat its not the hotels fault. The hot food isn't exactly hot but the hotel caters for large numbers so its not a cooked to order type of place and again if you want a full English this is not the place to go. We ate a few nights in the restaurant and to be honest if was very hit and miss, pizza was good as was the pasta dishes. we had the chicken one night and it wasn't the best. Kids eat free so added bonus. The gym is well equipped. the pool was being renovated so we got to use the pool a few minutes walk from the hotel again it would have been nice to be informed that the pool was being renovated just so we would have had choice about our booking but again nothing major about a few minutes walk. The bar is really lovely to have a drink and chill but the hotel when we stayed was very busy so didn't get a real opportunity to sit and relax there. No major complaints from us but would have loved a fridge in the room it was super hot outside and would have been nice to have the complimentary water chilled. On our last night a tour group arrived so there was a lot of banging of doors and people talking in the corridor late in the night, nothing the hotel can do about loud individuals being inconsiderate to those asleep but other than that a very nice stay. Reception sell the train tickets into Rome and the station is a short walk away. The area is a bit run down but that's nothing to do with the hotel. We would be back to see the renovations in the pool area. Thank you

|2.18km from city centerI arrived with several other people and checked in at the same time. Wendy were all booked by the same cruise line. Their rooms were all ready, mine was not. I was told I would have to wait an hour because mine room was being cleaned. Check in was at 2pm, it was 1:45pm. Many people came in after me to check in and all had rooms ready. My room is finally ready and I walk in and it smells so bad that I almost vomit. Coincidentally, that is how the room smells. It was horrible. I went to the front desk and told them that the room smells awful. They lady I spoke with was not rude. She told me to wait one second and she asked who I think was the manager who was not very nice. They told me to go remove my bags and come back and get a new key. I got my bags, went down to the desk, handed a key and they said nothing. No apology nothing. I go to the new room, doesn’t smell but was not that clean. I used a colored wipe to clean the table and desk and it was filthy after cleaning 3 things. The bath tub was also dirty. I had lunch in the hotel restaurant and ordered a pasta and pesto dish. It was so salty that I could only eat one bite. It was not edible. The server ask what was wrong and I told him that it was salty and I couldn’t eat it. This was after someone else had just told him their pasta was too salty. I was charged for my dish even though it was not edible. They also charged me for 2 bottles of water from the shop when I only had one. When I told them that I didn’t eat the lunch and only had one water they keep asking me if I had two lunch’s and 2 purchases from the shop. I had to explain to them 3 times what happened and what I got from the shop. They even went to go ask the restaurant about my lunch as if I was not telling the truth. I didn’t not care for their hotel and if I could go back I would definitely chose a different place to stay.

|4.48km from city centerThis hotel is a lovely oasis away from the tourist areas of Rome. There is a shuttle bus into the centre which is very efficient and we used this every day. Well worth it. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, although dated and we found it very strange that they provided every amenity apart from the two essentials we like in a room - tea/coffee making tray and bottles of water. They did supply 2 tiny bottles which were it till the next day which was nowhere near enough for 30 degrees heat! Very odd for a 5 star hotel to restrict water bottles.... On arrival, we were told our luggage would be sent up to our room but after an hour waiting, went to concierge to try and locate our cases but were told they were too busy and would have to wait till they brought them up. Couldn't take cases up ourselves. The staff in the foyer bar and light dining were excellent and the cocktails were first class. As were the housekeeping staff on our floor who always greeted us with a smile and 'buongiorno'. Breakfast was served either at pool terrace or inside and was extensive choice and very good quality . The scrambled eggs were the best we have ever had in a hotel! Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Cavalieri and would definitely return .
