The Former Ringer Residence is one of the nationally designated Important Cultural Properties located within Glover Garden. It was the home of the British merchant Frederick Ringer in the early Meiji period. Since it was built during the settlement era, it is a valuable building that has stood for over 150 years. The view of Nagasaki's cityscape from the hill is also very beautiful and it was a wonderful place.
