Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) (#UAE) Signed Contract to Build 1GW #WindPower Plant in #Uzbekistan at #COP29. [12 Nov] At the COP-29 conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, a contract was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Masdar from the United Arab Emirates to implement a project to build a 1,000-MW wind power plant in the Uchkuduk district of Navoi region. The construction of this power plant will create 600 to 800 new jobs. The project will generate 3.5 billion kWh of #electricity annually, which will save 1 billion cubic meters of #naturalgas. This project is of great importance for Uzbekistan not only from an economic point of view, but also for environmental protection. Thanks to the construction of this #wind #powerplant, #emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced by 1.4 million tons per year. Reference: Masdar's projects with a total capacity of 1497 MW have already been implemented: 1) a wind power plant in Zarafshan (500 MW), 2) #solar #photovoltaic stations in Karmana (100 MW), 3) Gallaaral (220 MW), 4) Kattakurgan (220 MW) and 5) Sherobod (457 MW). In addition, as part of the implementation of major projects, work is underway to build photovoltaic stations in 1) the Alat district of the Bukhara region (250 MW) and 2) the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region (300 MW). UZKIMYOSANOAT and ACWA Power Secure $65M loan from EBRD for #hydrogen project. The signing of the loan and guarantee agreements took place on September 10. Under the terms of the tripartite documents, the EBRD will provide an Equity Bridge Loan to ACWA Power UKS Green H2 for project implementation. As previously reported, the intermediate loan will amount to $5.5 million. ACWA Power Signs Financing Agreements with Six Lenders for US$533 Million Tashkent Riverside Project in Uzbekistan. "The greenfield development will involve the development of a 200MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and a 500MWh #BESS that will serve to stabilise the Uzbek grid... The financing documents were signed with six lenders, including the EBRD, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), DEG, Proparco, Standard Chartered, and KfW IPEX-Bank.
