As 2024 draws to a close, our team recently swapped our office chairs for bike trails during our company trip to Siem Reap 🇰🇭 Over three adventurous days, we explored stunning sandstone carvings and ancient ruins, weaving through hundreds of century-old giant trees in the woods. 🌳🚴♀️ One truth resonated deeply with us after all: #nature grounds us in ways that are profound and interconnected. This reminds us why our mission matters and drives us to keep pushing forward on our #decarbonization journey in the year ahead. This brings our total portfolio to 20, each driving forward a critical climate tech solution at a time in #EnergyTransition, #GreenManufacturing, #SustainableAgriculture ✅ We expanded our investments beyond Emerging Asia to now include Sweden, Germany, the UK, and the USA - pushing the boundaries of global climate innovation. ✅ Three of our portfolio companies successfully raised subsequent funding rounds. The latest report by DealStreetAsia - DATA VANTAGE is out. For the first time in nearly a decade, private funding for Southeast Asia's #ClimateTech startups has contracted, with both deal count and funds raised shrinking in the first 11 months of 2024 📉 Our Founding Partner, Tien Nguyen, pointed out the root causes: limited groundbreaking innovations, slow market adoption and the region's underdeveloped liquidity markets.
