  • 🌟 Unveiling Vietnam’s Carbon Market Potential at GEFE 2024 On October 21st, Day 1 of GEFE 2024, our CVO, Betty Pallard, took part in Panel 2B: Unpacking Vietnam's Carbon Market Potential, joining an exceptional group of experts from various sectors. Together, they explored the road ahead for Vietnam’s carbon market, emphasizing the challenges and opportunities in establishing a transparent and efficient system. Moderated by the esteemed Ha Do, Head of ASPAC International Development Advisory Services at KPMG Vietnam, the panel brought together diverse voices: 🌿 Nghiep Thanh Nguyen, Partner at VTN and Partners, pointed out key regulatory challenges, such as the ongoing difficulties in emissions assessment and the lack of finalized frameworks for carbon trading, with a tentative target for delivery in Q1 2025. 🌿 Marco Gaspari of AICS Hanoi highlighted the importance of considering both environmental and social impacts when assessing carbon projects, as well as paying attention to the project quality. 🌿 Ng Huyen Thu from World Resources Institute emphasized that the carbon market must be adapted to Vietnam’s unique context, stressing that capacity-building and collaboration will be critical for success. 🌿 Quynh Do Ngoc, General Secretary of Vietnam Bond Market Association, discussed how financial institutions can play a crucial role in financing decarbonization initiatives and helping companies navigate the complexities of the carbon market. Quynh underscored that Vietnam’s positioned as a key player in the global green economy. Financial institutions can support by developing tailored financing systems and ensuring that companies are prepared to meet future market evolvement. 🌿 From the perspective of a climate expert, Betty Pallard, who is also the founding member of EuroCham Vietnam Sustainable Finance Sector Committee (SFSC), added valuable insights into how companies need to take ownership of their decarbonization journeys. She emphasized that while regulatory frameworks are important, companies should proactively build internal capacity for carbon management, learning from leading examples set by Vingroup JSC or Yen Bai Province with their internationally traded carbon credit. 🌏 Betty’s view is aligned with ESGs & Climate Consulting’s broader commitment to supporting companies as they navigate their sustainability journeys. Our focus on capacity building ensures that businesses are not only meeting regulatory demands but are also pioneering their way toward a low-carbon economy. A big thank you to Ha Do for her outstanding moderation and to the panelists for sharing their expertise. As we continue to engage in dialogues like these at GEFE 2024, we are committed to fostering collaborations that accelerate Vietnam’s decarbonization efforts. 🌱

THE LIST THAT NO CITY WOULD LIKE TO BE THE FIRST... And it is frankly hurting since Hanoi is one of my favorite city in Asia and it has been more than 10 years that I am resisting, calling this so beautiful place "home", acknowledging today I am avoiding probably the issue... I feel really speechless and might probably surrender to the evidence. -- We all know that Hanoi is highly polluted, and recently Ho Chi Minh City has seen more recurrently same alarming situations the last past months. Why Hanoi, which is the capital of a country of 100 millions inhabitants, meaning potentially 100 millions brains and goodwills that can necessarily find immediate solutions to respond to this life threat within the shortest time... is still not moving forward?? It is just unbearable and must be taken as an emergency. #PollutedHanoi #MostPollutedCity #LifeThreat

  • Beyond ESG and Technical Frameworks: At its core, sustainability is about preserving the essence of what we have and embracing who we truly are—beings inherently capable of sensing what is right, magical, and meaningful. It is a call to rediscover our place as nature within nature, to dissolve the illusion of separation, and to nurture a sense of belonging that unites us with the world around us. #WeAreNature

Reflecting on Hue’s Heritage and the Promise of 2025 - in the era of Climate Change #NetzeroCity — As we close the year, I’m inspired by the spiritual essence of Hue, Vietnam—a city where heritage, innovation, and nature harmonize beautifully. Known for its profound history and its poetic rains, Hue teaches us valuable lessons about balance, preservation, and renewal. Rains in Hue are more than just weather; they are nature’s quiet gift, purifying the city and nurturing its essence. They remind us to slow down, reflect, and return to what truly matters. Hue’s journey of heritage restoration began in earnest in 1993, when it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since then, the city has evolved into a vibrant, living museum, going beyond preservation to embrace sustainable urban life. Recent efforts have showcased how a balance between tradition and modernity can create a mirror reflecting what we deeply need: connection, authenticity, and a sense of place. Today, Hue is not only celebrated for its imperial citadel, pagodas, and poetic landscapes but also as a city that thrives with innovative energy while honoring its roots. This transformation is an inspiration for the world—a reminder that “small is beautiful” and that slowing down can often lead to deeper progress. As we step into 2025, may we draw inspiration from Hue’s rains, its heritage, and its resilience to shape a future full of innovation, grounded in essentials and paced with mindfulness. Let’s recognize that preservation and innovation can coexist, guiding us to create sustainable and meaningful impacts in our own journeys. Wishing you a year of discovery, balance, and thoughtful growth. WHEN VIETNAM is FEATURED via our collective effort, we feel that our humble mission sometimes can make a little difference and attract some good intention.. We are excited to share the cover of the 3rd issue of *Global B2Business Magazine*, which features our CVO, Betty Pallard, in the cover, featuring a major editorial only discussing challenges in regards of sustainability transformation in the landscape of Vietnam, advocating for sustainability and ESG standards in Vietnam. Betty’ sharing is widely introducing Vietnam, and its important decisions to achieve Net-zero maybe before 2050 (who knows!), all the highlights in the interview stem from a collective effort, via different Circles of Business and individuals that clearly accelerate their directions to a greener future, everyday more and more. Through notably her role as Vice Chair Green Growth Sector Committee - EuroCham Vietnam and CVO of LinkPower, Betty has been part of a broader initiative that fosters collaboration, dialogue, and meaningful connections between business circles, investors, innovative technologies developers from Europe actively developing in Vietnam. Together with a team of passionate individuals mostly from Europe for our technology development tools, ESGs & Climate - SUSTAINIFY platform, with a new tech tool is soon to be introduced, will support forest agroforestry management and carbon credit curation on behalf of multiple stakeholders. This tool, particularly along with projects focused on biodiversity, will create a comprehensive journey toward sustainability, unlocking climate and sustainable finance in a region where innovation is critical, “from emission to reduction to compensation, and then to green financing.” -// *Global B2Business Magazine*, established in Monaco, remains one of the last paper magazines, with a distribution network spanning 600 airports worldwide exclusively in platinum and VIP lounges, which will be launched in New York today for Christmas. The stunning artwork accompanying the feature comes from @Jerome Peshard, a pioneering and talented artist known for creating pieces made from recycled metal collected from the construction industry. As we continue to build bridges between Vietnam and Europe, we are driven by the vision of deepening collaborations over the next two years. The goal is to attract climate and social funds that will support impactful, monitored projects in Vietnam, starting with the establishment of a diplomatic fund for inclusive micro-financing. Despite a year of challenges, our team remains steadfast in driving forward meaningful projects for a more sustainable future. This issue provides a unique glimpse into the work of a dedicated doers committed to shaping the future of business and climate action. Merry Christmas to all of you 🌏🙏🏻 #Sustainify #Esg #CarbonNeutrality #ClimateTech #B2B #GreenGrowth #VietnamEuropeCollab
