📢 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗻-𝘁𝗵𝗲-𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 & 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 On 8 January 2025, EuroCham, in collaboration with Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (LEFASO) and Vietnam Textile & Apparel Association (VITAS), hosted a hybrid event on “On-the-Spot Import and Export: Opportunities and Challenges” at Melia Hotel, Hanoi. The event attracted nearly 100 in-person attendees and 170+ online participants, fostering a dynamic dialogue on this emerging trade model. EuroCham’s Vice Chairman Mr. Minh Nguyen delivered an insightful presentation on the origins, challenges, and practical solutions for Vietnam’s on-the-spot import and export model. Speakers and panelists from key industries, including leather, footwear, and textiles, shared multi-dimensional perspectives, while participants actively engaged in discussions with industry experts. The event highlighted the potential of this trade model to enhance Vietnam’s integration into the global value chain and fostered discussion on overcoming remaining challenges with on-the-spot import and export. 📢 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀 On 27 December 2024, the Civil-Economic Legislation Department (Ministry of Justice) hosted a legal review of the Draft Decree amending Decree 98/2021 on the extension of medical device import licenses in Hanoi. The meeting, requested by the Ministry of Health, brought together representatives from: 🔹 Civil-Economic Legislation Department  🔹 Government Office  🔹 US-ASEAN Business Council  🔹 Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)  🔹 Saint Paul Hospital    Representing EuroCham Vietnam, members from the Medical Devices and Diagnostic Sector Committee (MDD SC) voiced support for the proposed amendments. Attending representatives from EuroCham's MDD SC include Mr. Hieu Nguyen – Co-head of Regulatory Affairs Working Group; Mrs. Hang Nguyen & Mrs. Thanh Thuy Doan – Co-head of Government Affairs and Market Access Working Group.     Delegates from government agencies, business associations, and other stakeholders reached a consensus on the draft decree, agreeing it is ready for further legal proceedings. 🔍 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: The Draft Decree amends Clauses 2, 3, and 4 of Article 76 in 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝟵𝟴/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭/𝗡𝗗-𝗖𝗣, allowing for a 𝟲-𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 of medical device import licenses. The last updates to this regulation were made via Decree 07/2023/ND-CP on 3 March 2023.
