Samsung is on a roll today. It has released the June 2024 security update globally for its recent foldables. The Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are picking up the new security patch in the US and several international markets.
Samsung updates all recent foldables to the June security patch
A few days ago, Samsung released the June update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 in Central America and Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US. The company has now expanded the rollouts to other regions while covering more Z series devices. The Flip 5 is getting the latest security patch globally, including Europe, Africa, Latin America, Australia, Asia, and the US. The firmware build number varies depending on the region.
The global versions are getting the update with build numbers F731BXXS2CXE9 and F731BXXS2CXEA, while those are F731USQS3CXE9 and F731U1UES3CXE9 for the US units. The changelog is the same everywhere. The foldable is only getting the latest security fixes. There aren’t any other changes to look forward to. The June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches nearly 60 vulnerabilities.
These patches are also rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 globally. The new build numbers are F946BXXS2CXEA, F946BXXS2CXE9, F946USQS3CXE9, and F946U1UES3CXE9. Likewise, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is getting the June update with the build numbers F936BXXS7FXEA, F936BXXS7FXEB, F936USQS5FXF1, and F936U1UES5FXF1. Those for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are F721BXXS7FXEA, F721BXXS7FXEC, F721USQS5FXF1, and F721U1UES5FXF1.
The same update is available for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in Europe with the build number F926BXXS7HXF2. In the US, factory-unlocked units are getting it with firmware version F926U1UES6IXF1. Samsung should soon expand the rollout to eligible units globally. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is also initially picking up the June SMR in Europe (F711BXXS8HXF2) and the US unlocked units (F711U1TBS7IXF1).
All of these devices should get One UI 6.1.1
The June update for Samsung’s past three generations of foldables brings nothing more than the latest security fixes. However, a major update may follow in July or August. The company will introduce One UI 6.1.1 with new AI features and other improvements next month. The new One UI version will ship out of the box on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Samsung will roll it out to older foldables and compatible tablets and smartphones later. The rollout may begin in late July or early August. We will keep you informed.
