Peacock finally decided to roll out profiles to its app this week. And we’re here to show you how easy it is to set up a profile, and add additional profiles.
With profiles, you can now set one up for your kids and have the ability to control what they are watching. As well as set a profile up for everyone else in your home. So you won’t need to share your watchlist or your watch history. And of course, that means that your recommendations will be more up-to-date with what you have been watching – and not everyone in your household.
How To Create A Profile On Peacock
If you have gotten the update on your smartphone, then once you open the Peacock app, you’ll be directed to create a profile. There will be the “Account Holder” and a “Kids” one already made.
If you already set up profiles and you need to make another one, just tap on your profile icon in the upper right hand corner.
From here, swipe from right to left, til you get to a plus sign. Tap on that.
Now you’ll be directed to choose an avatar. You can choose from a number of different avatars – though you can’t create your own. These include characters from some of NBCUniversal’s most popular properties. Like the Fast and the Furious, The Office, Parks and Rec and more.
Then you’ll be asked if this is for a kid.
Now, you can set a name for your profile.
And you’re all set. That’s all there is to it, when it comes to setting up a profile on Peacock.
How to edit the Account Holder’s Profile
One of the two pre-made profiles on Peacock is the Account Holder. Now you will need to be at least 18 years old to edit this.
Tap on the profile, and then tap on the pencil icon below the avatar to edit.
From here you can choose your avatar.
Next it will allow you to change the name.
Then it’ll ask for the year you were born.
It’ll also ask about your zip code, and gender.
And then you’re all set.
