Hannah Towey is an Associate Editor at Condé Nast Traveler, covering transportation and travel news. Prior to joining Traveler, Hannah was a transportation and travel reporter at Business Insider on the cruise and airline beat. She’s also worked at The New York Times, Hachette Book Group, and The US Department of State. Hannah is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she double majored in Journalism and Global Studies and minored in Creative Writing. Her writing has won an Alex Albright Creative Nonfiction Prize and in 2020, she was selected as a Top 10 student journalist in the US by the Big Scribble Writing Competition. Hannah grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut and finds joy in practicing yoga, skateboarding, surfing, sailing, skiing, and dancing to live music wherever her travels take her.
