Megan Spurrell

Senior editor

Megan Spurrell is a senior editor at Condé Nast Traveler, where she writes and edits features on travel trends, emerging destinations, and experiences worth traveling for—from free-diving in Hawaii, to trekking through archaeological sites in Peru's cloud forest, to salsa-ing through Mexico's oldest dance halls.

Originally from Los Angeles, she has lived in Rio de Janeiro and Lima, and has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, a region she returns to several times a year. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. She has been writing about travel for nearly a decade, and has appeared as a travel source on NBC, The TODAY Show, CBS, and WNYC. Her writing and editing work at Condé Nast Traveler has been recognized by the North American Travel Journalists Association (winning gold for a photo essay on Bolivian skateboarders), and the Society of American Travel Writers (with an honorable mention for the 2023 Women Who Travel Power List).

Currently she calls Brooklyn home, where she splits her time between countless bars and restaurants, Rockaway Beach, and Lyfts to and from the airport.
