The regular football season may be over, but there's plenty of match-day fun still to come this summer with the Euro 2024 tournament kicking off on 14th June in Germany. Gareth Southgate and Co have come so close in the continent's biggest tournament – we're still sore about that Italy final, by the way – meaning expectations on the Three Lions are at an all-time high. And while many will be scrutinising the team selection, what we're keen to explore is what the boys will be wearing when they step out onto the pitch.
If you're keen to check out what each nation will be donning in this year's tournament, we've already ranked the best Euro kits, from Belgium's playful take on Tintin to Germany's handsome lilac number. A lot has been made of England's kit for their first game against Serbia on 16th June, but many will be hoping to grab a shirt to show support. The good news is that the 2024 tournament kit is now on sale ahead of the major tournament, and will be worn in the upcoming friendlies, which act as a minor amuse-bouche before the proper football starts in earnest. As befitting tradition, we expect Gareth Southgate to don either his waistcoat or knitted polo shirt ensemble.
Given how quickly every England shirt tends to sell out before each new tournament kicks off, you might be wondering where you can buy yours right now. We've got the answers to this question and a few other practicalities below.
How to buy the England UEFA Euro 2024 kit
As with most major football kits these days, there are actually two versions of the new England shirt: an England Match Shirt and a more affordable Stadium Shirt. The Match Shirt is a fitted design that utilises its maker Nike's Dri-FIT ADV fabric to keep players cool and dry while standing in the cauldron of Berlin's Olympiastadion. In a welcome eco-friendly touch, these shirts are also made from at least 75 per cent recycled polyester fibres.
As for the Stadium Shirt? It's a looser design for those whose bodies have less in common with the Premier League's elite. It still uses recycled materials in its construction and features those classy striped sleeve cuffs, but doesn't offer quite the same peak performance as its spennier sibling. Not sure which model to get? We'd steer towards the stadium shirt for its baggier fit that works better as part of a summer ensemble, and gives off less of the impression that you’re minutes away from going full John Terry should the Three Lions make it to the final.
How much is the new England kit?
If there's one aspect of the recent England kit palaver that we can sympathise with, it's that these new shirts are expensive. How expensive? Well, the England Match Shirt is £124.99 and the England Stadium Shirt is £84.99, which means both kits cost £10 more than they did just a year and a half ago for the Qatar World Cup. As for getting your little one involved? That'll either set you back around £64.99 for a kid's shirt. It's all a bit ridiculous in a cost-of-living crisis, but here we are.
As much as we'd like to tease an eventual discount for these shirts, that's unlikely to happen unless Kane, Maguire and co endeavour to knock themselves out at the earliest opportunity. Since hope springs eternal and England is currently the bookies' favourite to win the whole tournament, most folks are destined to pay full price for their new kit. Jules Rimet still gleaming, and all that. For now, we know for certain that this latest England kit will be in action at Auro 2024 against Serbia (16 June), Denmark (20 June) and Slovenia (25 June).

What about retro England kits?
As much as we've been waiting our whole lives to see another edition of Jack Grealish's mad lad trophy-winning adventures, unofficial national anthems have been written about England's 57 years of hurt. Well, for the men's team at least. Should you wish to mitigate the risk that this tournament might follow the same agonising trend, picking up a retro kit is a surefire means to guarantee you'll be able to wear the same shirt again with some sense of pride in two year's time.
