1. Salon Wine Store, Brixton

Located on the fringes of Brixton Market, Salon is a bar and restaurant serving new-Nordic dishes and bold bar snacks. Right next door, its Wine Store is well-stocked with wines from low-intervention and small-scale producers, plus house-made syrups and preserves. Now, they’re bundling up cases of wine during lockdown for once-a-week deliveries across London.

2. Bar Douro, London Bridge and City

Inspired by the traditional cervejarias and tascas of Lisbon and Porto, Bar Douro’s outstanding regional wine list has always stood shoulder-to-shoulder with its modern Portugeuse food. Owner Max Graham works closely with independent winemakers to import a selection of wines not previously available in the UK, exploring key wine-growing regions and native grape varietals. While Bar Douro’s doors are closed, Graham has selected 14 wines for delivery in cases of six – and £1 per bottle is donated to hospitalityaction.org.uk.

3. Tincture, Spitalfields

Tucked beneath Neil Rankin’s Simplicity Burger on Brick Lane, Tincture – a sustainable, plant-based cocktail bar – was opened by bartender Carl Brown in February. It offers two distinct cocktail menus: the Modern Apothecary, which features innovative zero-waste cocktails based around four seasonal tinctures; and the Alternative Speakeasy, serving booze-free creations that use punchy ingredients to mimic the warmth of alcohol. While Tincture is closed, Brown is creating strictly limited-edition cocktails, presented in nifty pouches, for local home delivery.

Only ten of each flavour are available, so get in quickly. Same-day delivery is free to addresses within 6km of the bar. 202 Brick Lane, London E1. bartincture.co.uk

4. Bodega Rita’s, King’s Cross

Taking its cues from the fast-and-filthy global comfort food of US corner stores (think Sloppy Joes, fried egg sandwiches and epic banh mis), Bodega Rita’s is part-deli, part-sandwich shop, part purveyor of lovely wine. It’s just launched Rita’s 4 U, which delivers natural and low-intervention wines (try the magnificently named Riesling Staffelter Hof Little Bastard, £28), as well as assorted stay-at-home essentials including pickles, cold beers, margaritas and, crucially, hot sauce.

6. Hacha, Dalston

This East London agaveria bar hit the ground running in 2019 with an ever-evolving list of 25 different tequilas, mezcals and lesser-known agave spirits. Its signature serve, Mirror Margarita, was voted Time Out’s seventh Best Cocktail In The World. Now, both this and the Mezcal Mirror Margarita are available premixed in 50cl bottles – the equivalent of four hefty serves, each containing a double shot – for £35 each, best enjoyed poured over ice.

7. Renegade, Bethnal Green

An urban winery and bar, Renegade sources grapes from family-run British and European vineyards to make unconventional, low-intervention wines in London, designed for the modern palate. How to get it: While the bars are now offering a click-and-collect service, the brewery can deliver a “pub in a box” to London addresses, so you can re-create the experience at home. It features Signature Brew’s core range of beers, beer glasses, beer mats, a vinyl record, a pub quiz written by music journalists, a Spotify playlist (accessible via a QR code) and an assortment of pub snacks, from £25. signaturebrew.co.uk

9. Passione Vino, Shoreditch

An Italian wine shop with a secret bar, Passione Vino focuses on small, independent Italian artisan winemakers. There’s no menu: founders Luca Dusi and Federico Bruschetta encourage customers to discuss their tastes so the team can recommend something a little out of their comfort zone. Light bites served in the bar are also sourced from lesser known Italian producers.

10. The Laughing Heart, Hoxton

GQ’s one-time Bar Of The Week, opened by Charlie Mellor and former Great British Menu star Tom Anglesea, is a cosy neighbourhood restaurant, bar and boutique wine shop. There’s an impressive 15-page wine list, split into colours and regions (the very easy drinking 2018 Alberese by Fattoria di Sammontana is £35).
