“Great experience, high value, very reliable and best crew we ever worked with. Mayer’s construction did a home remodeling for us during the last 6 months. It has been a big home remodel for us that took design and build as well. After months spending finding the right company for us, we have choose to work with Mike & Nathan Mayer from Mayer’s construction. A week after finalizing contract we started working with Su & Luis both company’s architect and engineer. We worked on the new plans we agreed and wanted at first and started to have architect drawings ready, when we got into engineering process, both Mayer’s construction and us didn’t know we were suppose to redone so much of the existing footings and reinforce of additional walls as 20 years ago we did a 2nd story addition that was probably made poorly and unprofessional. They were extremely kind and helpful and kept the price as we agreed on and didn’t changed a thing. The plan process and measurements took about a month or so, and finally we were able to submit the plans to the city of San Jose. After getting the permits done and job card set ( overall 5 months of waiting / SJ is a pretty busy city) we got into work schedule and been ready to move out as the entire home going to be demolished. Mike was very organized both managing and scheduling the team, rough materials arrivals, and to us to be fully briefed with details and what we need and when. The process of work was great and on timeline , city did changed a lot during this time period with their inspection delays but it didn’t interrupt with our schedule or timeline due to great management ahead. We just finished our work and we absolutely in love with our new home! New flooring throughout, new kitchen, new bathrooms, complete open floor plan, new stair case, new rooms reconfigured, new paint, new texture, new windows and sliding doors throughout, all new plumbing and electrical. A brand new and beautiful home we got thanks to Mayer’s construction and the team, Mike, Nathan, Raul, Jose and many more who had a added value and did this work absolute best.”

The subcontractors were on time and extremely competent. Each phase of the work was overseen by Arsen and each day closed with detailed cleanliness. Everyone I came in contact with was professional, well mannered, kind and enthusiastic. It was a pleasant experience, done as I wanted. A job well done, gorgeous! “I just completed a complete remodel of my San Francisco Edwardian flat and build out my basement. Joanne and her staff did a fantastic job. It started out as a kitchen bath remodel, but once the design process started expanded to include every room as we discussed how different spaces would be used and what I didn't like about the current space after living with it for 20yrs. Might as well do it right! Joanne's attention to detail, listening, and high ethical standards are unmatched. She would listen in the meetings and ask questions then come back with some ideas and sketches to get my reaction. She knew what I wanted without me even knowing it. She was also sensitive to the project budget which was important. I was able to complete the project within my budget. She was also key to working with the general contractor. She brought with her experience in projects of my scope / scale and working with different contractors and even her own remodel. This helped immensely. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Koch Architects again.”

Very strong modern sensibility and has the capacity to lead projects across the architectural spectrum — she can do massive renovations and ground up work, to lighting and interior design, to landscape design. “We hired Clever Design and Remodeling to remodel our kitchen in our condo. We had met with two other contracting companies and we were given a similar quote as Clever but to be honest, meeting with Gilli gave me a totally different level of confidence than meeting with the others. We replaced most of the carpeting in our home with European Oak wood flooring which is beautiful. We also had the kitchen cabinets refinished and a new stainless steel over the range microwave installed as well as coordinating new sink fixtures and all new cabinet hardware. Recessed lighting was installed in the living room, kitchen, and master bath with necessary patching and all ceilings painted. Roy was very knowledgeable of all aspects of the project -plumbing, electrical, carpentry- displaying true craftsmanship in his work. Gilli was great to work with, she is very detail oriented and he and his team always left our house and the common areas in the condo building extremely clean (cleaner than it was originally, honestly). The Clever Design and Remodeling team really went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and happy with the work. Strongly recommended!!!!”

“AJ and his team remodeled our primary bathroom last fall, and did an excellent job - the quality of the workmanship is outstanding and met our exacting standards (I’m an engineer and my wife is an architect who did the design for our bathroom). AJ specifically was excellent to work with, great communication through the entire process from estimate to contract to work scheduling. He sent us texts every morning with the plans for the day/week and if any changes came up he was quick to alert us. He still checks in with me to make sure no issues have come up since they completed their work (nothing has). The crew was also very nice and respectful of our space during the remodel, they always left the job site clean and as tidy as possible each day. They stayed mostly on schedule, and we encountered only a few issues that had to be fixed. But I’ve done enough work on my 125 year-old house to know that nothing goes perfectly. And when issues did arise, AJ was quick to take responsibility and fix the problems with no questions asked. I don’t know what else you can ask for from a contractor. I got 4 estimates for my bathroom and AJ was very competitive on price and I could just tell he cared about working with quality materials and that’s what sold me on his company. We used handmade tile that a lot of contractors mess up when installing, and AJ and his tile guys were familiar with the product and took all the extra steps to install it correctly. The work speaks for itself, and we’re very happy with the project and feel we got great value for our investment. Everyone who comes into our house remarks about how beautiful the bathroom is. I would have no hesitation hiring Canseco Construction again or recommending them to friends.”
