I understand the complexities and obstacles that project managers encounter. Maintaining team motivation and avoiding micromanagement are critical to success. Recognising and celebrating little accomplishments with the team generates a sense of accomplishment while keeping everyone focused on the ultimate goal. Furthermore, trusting team members' knowledge not only boosts their confidence, but also enables the project manager to better allocate their time and efforts, resulting in a smoother and more efficient project execution.

To tackle project management challenges effectively, prioritize tasks, communicate clearly, delegate when possible, adapt to changes, and utilize project management tools to streamline processes. Additionally, continuous learning and seeking feedback can enhance problem-solving skills.

La matrice d'Eisenhower peut être un outil méthodologique intéressant pour hiérarchiser les tâches à accomplir (mais attention à ne pas s'y perdre lorsqu'il y a trop d'éléments à classer). A ce moment-là, il vaut mieux l'appliquer à chaque sous-projet.

Be proactive. Don't wait until a challenge becomes a major problem to address it. Instead, be proactive and identify and address challenges that potential could jeopardize the project. Maintain your personal resilience, so stress doesn’t build. Try to keep yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally well and up state at best so that stress doesn’t build. Il existe autant de façon de hiérarchiser les tâches qu'il peut y avoir d'intérêts divergents chez les sponsors de ces tâches. Un bon moyen de commencer à trier c'est de se demander, parmi ces tâches, lesquelles ont du sens pour les équipes. Je ne connais personne qui ait envie de créer une usine à gaz, ou d'implémenter des features trop lourdes, qui servent une fois tous les 10 ans. Faites confiance à vos équipes pour challenger les demandes et accompagnez-les dans l'identification des critères principaux constitutifs du projet d'entreprise / d'équipe : "Business first" ? Le risque de poser des jalons est d'avancer progressivement vers du micro-management. Il y a un curseur à placer entre le suivi qui permet à l'équipe de constater son avancée, d'entretenir la motivation, et le suivi "passif-agressif" à éviter (Comment ? ça n'a pas avancé depuis hier ?) Si vous n'êtes pas sûr du moral qui règne dans votre équipe soyez vigilant à votre communication lors du suivi / des cérémonies agiles. L'objectif est d'aider chacun à avancer et non de les fliquer sur une progression peut être compliquée. C'est vous qui avez besoin de votre équipe pour avancer, plus que le contraire.

It is also important that each member of the team feels free to voice ideas and concerns during the process, though remember that the buck stops with the project manager. When final decisions must be made, own them.

En tant que chef de projet, il n'est jamais trop tard pour consolider une équipe projet pour faire avancer chacune des briques. C'est comme pour construire une maison, il faut tous les corps de métier et être l'OPC en charge de la coordination. Pour cela, il faut être en mesure d'appuyer les membres de l'équipe projet lorsque, pour une raison ou une autre, ceux-ci sont débordés ou dépassés. Etre chef de projet, c'est aussi éviter de perdre des membres de l'équipe en cours de route. Autre atout en chefferie de projet, avoir, en sus des membres de l'équipe projet, des experts à mobiliser sporadiquement pour approfondir techniquement un sujet ou pour relancer la réflexion.

I have often found communication helpful. Another thing I would encourage is clearly defining expectations. Defined expectations help us to get everybody's effort aligned on the team as we can all see the end from the beginning

Quite often project managers try to handle everything by themselves. Getting a different perspective from the execution team helps a lot. Discussing with the team and getting their perspective helps in overcoming the challenges.

I would add - Work in team - get feedback from experts. - establish scenarii best case / worse case - bring key data for decision takers A good project manager is an orchestra chief.

Here is what else to consider. Always make SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound) goals. Be it for the entire project, or for any part of the project. If we tick all these boxes, that feeling of overwhelming will go away. After all, failing to plan is planning to lose. Therefore, plan your project by making SMART goals before you start with it. Creating a work breakdown structure also works as a stress buster for me.
