At the California Department of Justice, we ran the BAADAGRR Project. This was a survey of Black & and African American District Attorney Generals to find out why there was such a decline in applications and attrition of Black and African American Attorney Generals within our department. We learned the socioeconomic backgrounds of these applicants needed to be considered. They had student loans that needed to be paid back, and taking a lower salary with the DOJ had a greater impact than their caucasian counterparts. It also showed they weren't being represented in management creating a disconnect. Consider their experience. Do research to find out what can be improved. We did and now the problems have been identified.
