With the advent of new trchnology it is vital to impart or conduct trainings which are offerred by tge manufacturers such as ME engine, Ballast water treatment system. A day or two with the key personnel will enhance better understanding and will always ensure safe operations. The marine industry is always changing with technological advance and many new components, equipments are being fitted. Hence, to better understand them crew training is a must. Emphasis on crew training cannot be undermined and should never be taken for granted. Many failures, incidents and accidents are avoided through proper and regular training.

There is always a feedback system in place to check the machinery operations, the Human-Machine interface HMI which is very crucial where huge industrial machineries are commissioned and the crew is expected to use them to its utmost peak performance, carry out routine maintenance as well. Hence the trained crew involved in operations might give a good indication regarding the operability and performance. The evaluation can be carried out by way of obtaining feedback from crew, assessing various machinery parameters, by audits and inspections condcuted by a comptent person and ifentifying training needs regarding the operations. It has been observed through experience that despite setting up SOP’s same is not complied
