Keep in mind that data can be viewed in many different ways that can prove out any decision you want to pursue. I recall once analyzing the same data twice over two weeks and when I came back and realized I had done this, I was shocked to see that my conclusions were completely contradictory. My approach to try and remove this expectancy bias is to run the analysis as best and honest as I can. Review the outcome and then see if I can rerun the analysis to get the opposite conclusion. If I can't, then I know the finding I have is solid and conclusive.
